It has been approximately one year since I put any projects on hold. However, I found this beautiful patterned knit fabric. I could not resist designing and making this gorgeous two piece dress out of it!

Alterations can be fun!
I enjoyed this particular alteration. These drapes were six inches too long, so had to be shortened and re-hemmed, making sure the weights in the corners were put back in.

Here are parts of what was a gorgeous dress.The problem was it was too small. We decided to resize the skirt so she could still wear it. I took the dress completely apart as you see here in the first photo.

There are several advantages to having your skirt custom made. Fit is at the top of the list. Secondly, creativity. Go for an original like this reptile print with a pleather front yoke!

Boarder prints can look elegant and sophisticated. The bubble crepe print skirt I’m sewing now will have an invisible back zipper and will be lined using a double knit lining as you can see in the second photo.
