🦔Hedgehogs and other hibernating creatures are at risk on .

⚠️Build your bonfire in an open space well away from trees and hedges, and please check your bonfire thoroughly before lighting and ideally make it on the night.

🔥When your fire has gone out the ashes can smoulder and stay hot for a day or so, especially if you’ve had a big fire and the weather is dry.

💦Animals can wander into the hot ashes and get injured so you’ll need to thoroughly damp down the embers with water.

🎆Keep fireworks away from trees and hedgerows to minimise the impact on wildlife.

We're opening again TOMORROW!! 🥳🎉

We've been closed for over 2 weeks because of avian flu, and there have been a few changes here in that time:

🦢 We've relocated all captive birds from the main lake
🦆 Some of our birds are off-show in quarantine facilities for now
🦚 We no longer have free-roaming peacocks
🦩 Our flamingos have moved to an aviary near the red pandas for a while
🐐 The Ranch is being used as a quarantine area, but you can still see our meerkats, goats and pot-bellied pig
👨‍🔬 Staff might be wearing white overalls when in close contact with animals

We'd like to reassure you that the risk of humans contracting bird flu is very low, but we'd still recommend avoiding contact with birds and their droppings, and to wash your hands thoroughly if contact occurs!

We can't wait to see you again tomorrow! 🎉🎉
