Hello fellow herbivores 🌱

Jinwe Cajun Seafood & Ramen - surprisingly, they have a vegan ramen bowl! 🙌 The base is very good - tastes like miso. I like all the toppings they give you, but I would like more than 4 pieces of tofu. 😁 I wouldn't say it's as good as Noodles and More, but I am definitely hyped to find a vegan noodle place closer to home!

Well hellooooo fellow herbivores!
Who else thinks they don't include enough icing in the cinnamon roll tubes? 🙋‍♀️ Good news- if you make your own, you can put aaaall the icing in you want... 😄🤤
This recipe is by Tasty and was easy to make! Next time I might try to find some vegan cream cheese for a thicker icing. It's really all about the icing anyway, isn't it?

Hey people! 🌱

This soft sugar cookie recipe is so easy and pretty forgiving if you aren't exact with the ingredient amounts! They came out perfect.
It was hard to wait to eat them until they were cooled and decorated, but the patience paid off! Look how pretty 😍😅🤤💙❄

Hey herbies 🌱

I'm bringing y'all the SCOOP regarding Mangonadas!
I've been to two places so far - Gaspachos El Charro 2 in Clute and The Zone in West Columbia. Both are amaaazing!! They were each about $4. 🤯
Gaspachos had a thicker tamarind straw, but The Zone had a sweeter more mango flavor.
If y'all like sweet and tangy, go get you some! 🥭 10/10 recommend both places. My only regret is that I didn't find these places sooner and eat them all summer. 😩 (Ask for extra chamoy at The Zone!)

Hey herbies! 🌱

I'm bringing you a vegan option from the Dirty South restaurant in Angleton! It's the Potato Hash, modified to leave out the weird stuff and requested to add more veggies. It was really good! The large portion was more than I could eat. This restaurant is also decorated so well, it's almost worth it just to stop in and look.
I definitely recommend giving this a try! 🍽

Nora Cooks put out a recipe for Alfredo sauce recently, and it is IT!!! I paired it with some garlicky pan fried chickpeas and maaan... 👌🤯🤤😛

I have tried another dairy-free alfredo recipe before, but this one takes the cake. 🥇 The cashews make it creamy and the garlic and onions make it savory!
I hope you try it out!!

Hello fellow herbivores! 🌱

I can't stop saying "wow" as I'm eating these. 😄 This masterpiece was adapted from Sweet Simple Vegan's Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. I'm pretty sure this is the only one I'll ever use again! Here's the recipe I made...

•3/8 cup coconut oil, melted
•3/8 cup granulated sugar
•3/8 cup packed brown sugar
•2 flax eggs (2T flax, 6 T hot water)
•1 overflowing tsp vanilla ;)
•1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
•3/4 teaspoon baking soda
•1/4 teaspoon salt
•1/2 cup vegan mini chocolate chips

I made these extra thick by rolling bigger dough balls because life's too short to make small cookies. 🍪 🤤

Fellow herbivores unite! 🌱

Whether you're vegan, plant-based, or whatever you want to call it, I'm glad you're here, and I can't wait to meet you!

There aren't many (if at all) "vegan" places to eat or things to do in Brazoria County...yet!...but this will be where it all starts! We can share vegan options we've found at restaurants, start some meet-ups, or go to other vegan events outside of this area.

As my brother lovingly said, "y'all can sit around and eat crackers." ✌🏼💚😂

As the first post of this group, I'll start out with a restaurant guide! Plenty more of these to come...

There's a new Mexican restaurant in Brazoria - El Potrillo - and I'll be the first to give it a vegan review.
Here's the scoop 🌮....

✅❌ Beans - vegetarian, except the Charro beans
❌ Rice - has chicken broth
✅ Salsa - light, yummy, and mildly spicy
✅ Green sauce - dairy-free!
✅ Chips - varying degrees of crunchy 👌🏻👌🏼👌🏽

I ordered the Bean Chalupas without cheese and rice. They were a bit bland, so I added lime juice, the salsas, salt, and pepper.

I probably won't choose to go back, but at least there are options if I do!
