Do you know why ice sometimes looks blue? ❄️
It happens when thick ice absorbs red light, leaving the blue colors reflecting back to our eyes and giving the ice this beautiful blue apperance.

During winter time in East Greenland there's plenty of thick ice around, which creates the feeling of being in a frozen Arctic wonderland.

In some Greenlandic cemeteries, you may notice that very few of the crosses bear names. This is because, in Inuit tradition, when someone dies, their name is often passed to a newborn, keeping the deceased person's spirit and memory alive within the commun

Sailing is a part of all of our summer tours as boat transfer is the best way to get around in East Greenland. On bright days like this one it is also by far the most scenic way of travel. Just look at these incredible Iceberg formations! 😍

Climbing the Qeqqit Qaqqartivaat, the mountain above Kuummiit village, is rewarded with views of mountain peaks that stretch as far as the eye can reach.

This photo was taken on day 4 of Arctic Villages in early July, one of our most popular tour where we sail between 4 of East Greenlands hunting villages and hike around each area.

The end of the treeline marks the start of the Arctic climate - where trees can't grow to be tall. In East Greenland there are no trees, only the stunning Arctic wilderness characterized by low-lying vegetation, such as shrubs, grasses, mosses, and lichens. 🌱
