Setting on the banks of the Shannon River with views across to Clare and the Twelve Pins mountains in Co. Galway

Easy access to Co. Clare and then on to Co. Galway at nearby Tarbert car ferry leaving every 30 minutes.

Killarney National Park, Muckross House, as well as the Ring of Kerry, only a 40 minute drive away.

Welcome to my page on Glin Castle and Gardens. My name is Deirdre Wetherill and I am a registered and qualified tour guide. I am now taking bookings from small groups up to 25, for a guided tour of this three hundred year castle which is steeped in fascinating local and national history and stories. The castle, run by the Fitzgerald family, has survived wars, invasions and bankruptcy and is now open to the public to showcase its treasures both inside and outside.

Guided Tours are by appointment only and begin mid -March and continue daily until the end of September. There are 5 guided tours daily and this includes cream teas and scones at the end of the 90 minute tour of the castle and gardens.
