Did you know, we share around 98% of our DNA with gorillas?

This means that exposure to human illnesses – even a cold - can have potentially detrimental impacts on gorillas as they are so genetically similar to us, but they haven't developed the necessary immunities.

Meet the Sloth Bear, another resident of the Indian subcontinent.

Once sloth bear mothers enter a den to give birth, they will not come back out for food or water for three to eight weeks. When she first emerges from the den, she does so alone, leaving the cubs in the den, and quickly gets some water and food before returning to her cubs.

After roughly 2 weeks of the mother leaving the den alone, she finally emerges for the first time with her cubs and introduces them to the world. The cubs jump on the mom’s back and off they go into the jungle for food and water.

We've been carbon negative for 15 months already, and yet we've not got started yet.

All of this means we have offset 12.99 tonnes of carbon, the equivalent to saving 39² meters of sea ice! When we start running tours, we aim to offset the carbon emissions +10% of each traveller, as well as planting trees for every person who embarks on one of our expeditions.

We are more than just explorers.

As a Social Enterprise, we are finalising our promises to the environment and the people we work with and employ.

One of the key beliefs is that trees are the answer to many of the environmental issues we face on our planet. As trees grow, they help stop climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere.

We are already members of and through partners such as we are working to help reforest the earth.

Effective conservation is about equilibrium. In many cases, we as a species have operated with inequality towards other species and habitats.

One project in India, however, looks to find a way for people living in areas such as Kerala to sustain their way of life, whilst local elephants are able to migrate without conflict.

The booming human population in India has restricted their populations to isolated pockets of land, and often sparked human-elephant conflicts.
The elephant corridors in India allow elephants to move tmore freely through the Wayanad District, helping to alleviate issues, a win win for both human and elephant residents alike.
