Week 23, Question 1 Answer: Coosa Mountain

The old Crawley Family home that once stood and was the site where the shooting of Deputy Marshal Dixon happened once sat at the base of Coosa Mountain, about 7 miles southeast of Blairsville. While the expected search warrant for George Crawley awaited, there were reports of "red flags flying over the Crawley Family home", letting Deputy Dixon and his search party know that the Crawleys wouldn't go down without a fight.

Week 22, Question 2 Answer: Wolf Creek

The murder of Reverend John Henry Lance took place at what Union County knows as Wolf Creek while on his way back home after preaching a sermon at a local church. As the story goes, his murderers were believed to have thought that he had turned them in for illegal moonshining activity. This however, is thought to have been a wrong assumption by the murderers as their moonshine still could be seen in broad daylight due to its close proximity to the old roadways.

❗️❗️❗️Great News❗️❗️❗️(Please feel free to share to spread the word)

The newest T-shirts are finally in progress and should be here by October 30th! Those of you who ordered your Micajah Clark Dyer T's will also be getting your shirts very soon! So, if you were one of those who ordered, be prepared to hear from me and have your shipping information ready if you haven't given it already!

The new T-shirts are as follows:

The M.D. Collins(Georgia's Mr. Education) T-shirts which will be available in the colors of black, red, or blue and in sizes S-###L. This shirt comes with a left-chest sketch design of M.D. Collins on the front, and on the back is the outline of the state of Georgia. Inside the state outline is everything that Mr. Collins implemented into the Georgia Public School System during his time as the Georgia State Superintendent of Schools! There is also one of his favorite quotes included which is "Education does not cost-It pays.". For those unfamiliar, M.D. Collins is Georgia's longest ever serving State Superintendent of Schools in history and is truly the reason for the infrastructure of the school system that we know today! He is also apart of the Union County Legends mural(2nd from the last on the right side of the mural). This shirt would make a perfect gift for any Georgia school superintendent, teacher, principal, educator, or Georgia Public School enthusiast who takes pride in Georgia education! The price for this shirt is $25 and portions of the profits are intended to go towards the Union County Historical Society for future preservation and renovation projects!

The Eric England T-shirt will be available in only the color of black in sizes S-###L. This shirt comes with a colored(Red, White, Blue, Green, Gold) left-chest sketch design of Eric England receiving one of his many honors/trophies on the front, and on the back is a gun scope intended to represent his career as an iconic U.S. Sniper with his accomplishments within the scope itself, as well as the words "A Great Man, A Great Marine" which is what he was described to be by iconic U.S. Sniper Carlos Hathcock himself when asked about Eric. For those unfamiliar with Eric England, he ranks among the top 5 of all time(I believe coming in at #3) for total confirmed kills(98) in his time as a U.S. Sniper, all of which he got in just 7 months of service during the Vietnam War. He became a national rifle shooting champion in 1952, the winner of the 1965 Leech Cup winner, became the 1969 "Mr. Palma High Individual" award winner, held the Long-Range Shooting Record in Ft. Benning, GA with a score of 998-45-X that he held for 41 years, and eventually became the most recent and 3rd Union Countian to be interred at the prestigious Arlington National Cemetery. He is also on the Union County Legends mural(3rd from the last on the right side of the mural). This shirt would be a great gift for the Eric England fans who knew him best, the gun lovers, and other veterans, but most importantly veteran fans of those who are so proud of the most prestigious veterans to come from Union County, GA! The price for this shirt is $25 and portions of the profits are intended to go towards the Union County Historical Society for future preservation and renovation projects!
