How lucky are we to have this gorgeous rail trail on our doorstep! We rode the Korumburra-Loch section yesterday. Said hello to some scaley locals, stopped for a bite in Loch, and enjoyed a well earned local brew on the return journey.

PROM RE-OPENING 🌿🌊
As the roadmap for reopening Victoria begins we have been advised that Wilsons Promontory will be open from Wednesday morning (16 September).
At this stage, the park will be open for day visitors only. Camping and accommodation will remain closed. The park will open from 8.00am to 6.00pm daily, with last entry in to the park at 4.00pm.
The store will be open, however the visitors centre will remain closed, with customer service staff based at the entrance instead. BBQs will be open, as well as the toilet blocks at the Norman Beach Car Park and near the General Store.
I think she’s waiting patiently for our guests to arrive.

While Silkstone is temporarily closed to all (except emergency services workers) I’ve been working on my home office which is in dire need of a clean & declutter. This sweet little drawing arrived in my letterbox yesterday and after a thorough spray with Glen20 it now has pride of place on my bookcase to remind me that one small gesture can have an enormous impact. Thank you letterbox angel 😇

When we first made the big move from Melbourne to Korumburra, and we didn’t know anyone, we would pick a nearby town we had never been to before and drive there to enjoy a pub lunch. What a great way to get to know our new surrounds. South Gippsland has so much to offer. Get out there and enjoy!

Whilst the scenic south gippsland wasn’t immediately affected by the recent bush fires, the whole of gippsland is hurting from lack of visitors to the area. Now’s the time to get out and support gippsland as a whole. A small thing you can do today is visit one of the fabulous cafes or bakeries in town and bring a picnic to Coal Creek Community Park and Museum. We are open today from 10am until 4.30pm.

Congratulations to The Borough Dept. Store for raising around $20,000 dollars tonight for the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund at their Friends of the Borough fund raiser. Attendees enjoyed good food & good company while listening to a fab old time band, then dug deep for the spirited auction, raffles and door prizes. Well done to all involved on the night. And the cherry on top was the thunder and lightening that flashed and boomed overhead while heavy rain washed away the thick smoke haze that’s been lingering these past few days. Lets hope the rain reaches those areas that desperately need it 🤞
