Madagascar Fb Live A Facebook Live event about travelling in Madagascar

01/08/2020

For those of you who have liked this page recently, Didi Madagascar Guide is an amazing guide who specialises in sustainable adventures in beautiful Madagascar. We did a live stream about Madagascar to raise money for Didi and the families he supports as COVID-19 has created a really difficult situation in the country. If you're planning to go there in future I can honestly say it was the best holiday we have ever had and the most incredible experience. Didi was a helpful, knowledgeable guide and can arrange for you to stay with and meet locals, experience meals, work and village life to go beyond the tourist experience.

I'm looking forward to hearing Didi talk about Madagascar tomorrow (Friday) at 2pm UK time. People have asked about wildlife tours so he'll be chatting a bit about the animals you can see and habitats you can visit and how this is done in a way which protects the wildlife. The video will be live in this group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/310024593345324 and we'll post the link here again tomorrow. Thanks! Christina

So what is this for? As a bit of an explanation: a couple of years ago my husband and I went to Madagascar and Didi was our brilliant guide. We've kept in touch since and were chatting over WhatsApp about the current situation there and how challenging it is and how important tourism is to their livelihoods and to Didi's education and community projects which he is normally able to support. So we came up with this as a way to give people something fun and a bit of escapism in lockdown and support Didi's livelihood and his work. Join us for the live video on Fri 5 June at 2pm and if you have questions you'd like Didi to answer comment below. Thanks! Christina

Didi supports children in rural areas of Madagascar to be able to go to school, by providing financial support from his work as a guide. From Didi: "Some photo of children which their parent could not pay their schooling. Each year, I take a part of the travel budget to help them."
