So Poxitani Phil, the groundhog said, “six more weeks of winter.”
I think he’s wrong again. He’s only right 36% of the time. It was 64 degrees today and expected to be warmer tomorrow. Not to say it won’t get cold again, but this week looks good so far. Maybe an unexpected Valentine’s Day get away. Just a thought?

Late January and we are expecting some rain this weekend. Hopefully it will be a gentle February. Very soon spring will be just around the corner. Book now for a Valentines Day get away or for spring in Fayetteville the waterfall trails are fantastic in March and April. We love to host you.

It’s and it’s a great time to be keeping your eyes to the sky with the most popular meteor shower of the year on display! The Perseid Meteor show is visible until August 24th with its peak being the weekend of August 11th-13th! Buffalo River Country’s dark skies make it an ideal location to catch the show!

Have you ever stopped to listen to all the sounds you can hear on the river? As you float down the river, take a moment and listen to all the critters and other wildlife that are living near the banks of the Buffalo. If you take the time to stop and listen, you might hear fish jumping up out of the water trying to eat an insect for lunch, you may see and hear otters swimming and splashing in the water, or the mighty croak of a bullfrog. If you are quiet, you may catch a glimpse of a doe with her babies crossing the river and hear them carefully make their way through the shallow water. You will also hear the laughter of families as they make their way down the river or have made camp along the banks of the Buffalo making memories for years to come. These are the things that make Buffalo National River special to so many people. The place where special memories can be made, and many different species of wildlife can be seen if you take a moment to stop and listen.
