6 must do activities in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala!

1: rent a kayak or paddle board and explore the lake! there are several places to rent from, but in Santa Cruz is great and affordable

2: Guatemala has an amazing coffee culture and there are tons of great coffee shops around the lake! A few of my favorites are in Santa Catarina and and in Panajachel

3: visit in San Juan to learn more about the honey making process and try local honey and treats

4: take in the views of the lake and volcanos from corazón del cielo viewpoint. It’s a little hard to get to, but so worth it (see my recent reel for more info!)

5: walk along the shoreline and watch the sunset on the lake on a clear day (this photo is in Panajachel)

6: visit the local galleries (San Juan has a ton!) meet the artists and bring home some beautiful, local art

Exciting news! One half of Two Sisters Abroad is officially ✨ENGAGED! ✨Thank you all for all of your love and support; Kate and Stephen are so excited for this next chapter!🤍💍🥂

We’d also like to say a huge thank you to for capturing every magical detail during our engagement shoot on Kate’s family farm in Vermont. Hallie is such an incredible photographer and these photos will forever be some of our favorite memories!

We can’t wait for our wedding next year and to make memories around the world!

3 things to know when visiting Belize!

1: you can use US dollars. the exchange is pegged at 1 USD = 2 Belize. there’s no fluctuating exchange rate and it’s very common to pay with either currency, or a mix. if you pay in USD, especially if it’s a large bill, expect to get change in Belize dollars

2: usually, I never recommend skipping a capital city, but in the case of Belize city, there isn’t a ton to do and I recommend exploring other parts of the county instead. the south coast, ambergris caye and caye caulker are great options!

3: English is the official language in Belize, but most people are multilingual and also speak creole patois and Spanish

colombia is the 5th country I visited this year and I loved every minute of it!

la mano del artesano (the artisan’s hand) in raquira, colombia is such a unique spot to visit!

it’s 10,000 pesos ($2.5 USD) to enter the attraction and they have tons of fun sculptures and photo spots! there’s a giant piggy bank, a huge donkey you can climb and the views are incredible. you can also buy a combo ticket for a little more and visit the upside down house right next door - honestly such a fun, silly little thing to do!

raquira is about 3.5 hours from bogota, however, it’s only 40 minutes from villa de leyva making it a wonderful day trip!

Boutique hotel spotlight: in Portland, Oregon 🩷

We had such a fun girls weekend at the Woodlark Hotel (hosted)! It was the perfect place to stay for a relaxing weekend of exploring! While you’re in Portland be sure to:

•visit the international rose test garden
•have evening drinks at
•visit powell’s city of books, one of the largest independent bookstores in the world
•go on a food tour to try some of the delicious bites in portland
• take a day trip to columbia river gorge to see the waterfalls

Our favorite photos from Taboga Island, Panama! 🍍

We had the best time on our day trip and catamaran tour to the lovely Taboga Island with GetYourGuide,

This is one of the closest beaches to Panama City and is great to have on your itinerary. You’ll find one of the oldest churches in the Western Hemisphere, restaurants, beautiful homes and great views.

Be sure to also try the famous piña coladas, they were a highlight of the trip!

Marseille in photos 🧡

Marseille, the oldest city in France, surprised be in the best way! It’s beautiful, walkable and filled with fun things to do! It should absolutely be one your south of France bucket list

Things you can’t miss in Marseille:

🤍soap shops & museum - Marseille is famous for its soap and was once the soap capital of the world

🤍visit chateau d’if - a fortress on an island about 1 mile from Marseille, it’s a former prison and also the setting of the famous novel the count of monte cristo

🤍go on a food tour - Marseille has such a great food scene and there are so many dishes that are local and famous in the city! I definitely recommend trying panisse (chickpea french fries), navettes (boat shaped biscuits) and aioli (a garlicky spread that’s great with a baguette)
