In honor of Walt Disney Studios turning 100 today, here are The Top 5 Moments in Disney History

1. Opening of Disneyland theme park

2. On 10. 16. 1923: Disney company was founded on October 16, 1923, by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as Disney Brothers Studio; it also operated under the names Walt Disney Studio and Walt Disney Productions
before changing its name to The Walt Disney Company in 1986.

3. Steamboat Willie cartoon , which used synchronized sound, becomes the first post-produced sound cartoon.

4. Acquisition of land in Florida for “The Florida Project” which would go on to become The Walt Disney World Resort

5. January 1930- Mickey Mouse becomes the brand icon. The character would go on to become the company's mascot and corporate icon.
