Goodbye SA, hello outback. After spending the last few months in South Australia working and spending some long overdue time with family, we’ve hit the road again and in true Kelso fashion we spanned 3 states in 3 days.

Some days have been filled with hours of red dirt, empty roads and goats, some days its been thermal pools, chicken races and quirky backyard pubs and others it’s been pulling over to change the oil filters on the side of the road while the kids played cowboys and gold hunters (Huge shout out to our man for keeping the dream alive, once again). We’re forever grateful for this awesome adventure- the good the bad and everything in between. Oh and we added a little extra member to our troop. Check out the last pic.

Come have dinner with us. . . . . 🔽

We came across this cove the day before and were obsessed with it. So Kieran decided it would be a great idea to come back for dinner.

Turned ourselves into pack mules and carted a table, gas cooker, pots...well basically everything except the kitchen sink, along the bush track and down the limestone cliffs (Watch to the end for the visual).

✨The Grampians✨

WOW! This place really exceeded my expectations. The landscape was so varied and interesting, each walk we did was more interesting than the last. Here were our top walks to do with little ones:

📌 The Balconies
This was a nice, easy 2km return walk from Reeds lookout carpark. (minimal bribery required)
📌 Mackenzie Falls
We misguidedly went on a long weekend and boy was it busy. There’s quite a few steep, narrow steps going down, like 260 😅 and it’s one way so we had to wait a bit on the way down. Definitely worth it but pick your timing. 2km return (moderate bribery required)
📌Bunjils Cave
Another nice, easy walk. This one was only 100m but we enjoyed exploring the rock formations surrounding the caves as well. (No bribery required)
📌 Venus Baths
This was a firm fave amongst our troop. A flat, easy 1km walk from the botanic gardens carpark (No bribery required)
📌Splitters Falls
From the Wonderland carpark this was a moderate 1.4km return walk with a few steep steps involved. I would have liked to see the waterfall in its full glory, apparently it’s at its best in Spring. (moderate bribery required)
📌 The Grand Canyon
Part of this walk was closed due to a rock slide but we still really enjoyed rock hopping alongside the creek in this rocky gorge. Starting at the same carpark as Splitters Falls. (No bribery required)

✨We were also recommended an easier version of The Pinnacle Walk which starts at Sundial carpark but we ran out of days. From the carpark it’s a 2.1km walk to the pinnacle lookout.
