Is two hot spring photos in 5 days too much? Oh well, that’s what happens when you’re in Idaho!
We actually visited this hot spring twice, because it’s just that good.
Although Tyki didn’t think so. He ran back and forth along the rocks asking for his dinner before giving up and heading up the hill to explore.
Don’t worry, he got his dinner only 33 minutes late.

Maybe I should start a RV repair replace soon. So far in the last years I did the following work (no order) on different motorhomes and trailers (some improvements, some repairs, some things I broke before and had to fix them)

Mounted a solar panel
Installed inverter and power cable
Changed refrigerator cooling unit
Replaced awning stabilizer leg (I broke it)
Replaced water pump (my fault)
Replaced toilet water valve
Installed fans in and outside refrigerator
Re-Sealed roof seams
Changed stove propane igniters (I destroyed)
Drilled out the water tank backflow valve
Installed a fan in bedroom
Installed TV holder arm
Replaced city-water inlet
Replaced all bulbs with LEDs
Cleaned propane valve for water heater so it closes again
Replaced fabric on upholstery
Cut a new carpet for the living room floor
Replaced kitchen faucet
Found loose piece of metal on furnace controller board that had a short-circuit to that point.
Installed extra boards in the wardrobe
Replaced locks for outside compartment
Fixed broken bike rack
Glued and painted a plastic bumper (I broke)
Installed curtains instead of awnings
Made a custom shoe-board (with Stefan Eberl)
Installed extended rain gutter spouts
Replaced the fender skirts with custom white ones
Repaired k**b of ceiling light
Lose battery connection melted the plastic(!) screw. I could find the error and repair it before RV repair shop wanted to replace the whole inverter..

So far this is what I remember ;-)

What we had to do at RV repair shops:

Leaking water tank outlet replaced (15$)
High-Pressured the water-lines (20$)
Replaced parts at the left landing gear (300$) (will do that myself if it should ever happen again, parts are only 27$ at amazon!)
Replaced broken driver-side window and mirror (80$ - in Mexico...)

Next weekend we will camp in New York City. Well actually it is Brooklyn and not Manhattan, but thats only a short ride away. Never thought I could find a camping spot in that city... like the one on this picture. What you do not see on that picture: It is an old suspended military airfield

We went to the Escambia Rodeo this Saturday in Pensacola. Lots of cowboys from Alabama there and a good show. Well, but not many of them could sit on the bull longer than 2-3 seconds.

Still excited that we went to NASA Space Center in Houston, so I have to post some pictures now. The mission control center is a national historic landmark today. Here the moon landing was operated and also the sentence "Houston we've had a problem" came trough those speakers. Yes, this room is special. Today you can have a seat where 30-50 years back only presidents, the queen or astronauts family could sit.
And on one of those pictures you see ORION, the latest Nasa project - this thiny capsule will fly to Mars in a few years.

Keep your fingers crossed that this will become our new vehicle next Tuesday. It is on auction and we should get it for ~10k less than from a dealer. I love it! I want it.

What a day! We just sold our RV, rented a car and also a storage, put in all our stuff (and that is really a lot). Now we are staying in a Motel. And this all takes us less than 24 hours. Wthin the next couple of days we gonna buy a Truck and a Trailer. Hope it will take us not to long.

We spend a few days at Brazos Bend State park south of Houston. This park is on the top list of parks of National Geographics society, for its wildlife view, including tons of alligators, turtles, hundreds of birds and even deer walking trough your campsite. We even could touch a little baby alligator.

I never considered birding to be on my top list of activitys, but Pedernale state parks offers a really beautiful open birding area (like a japanes garden), you just sit down and see a dozen birds at the same time in their natural habit. We easely spend an hour there. Still the red Cardinal is my favourite one.

So we went to Luckebach Texas for the 2nd time yesterday to see Sundays jam sessions at 5pm. Always different people show up there and play their own Americana songs, some travelling 1500 miles for that weekend alone.

The Texas state flower, the Bluebonnet, brings a lot of blue color into the landscape near highways in spring. Did you know there exists an Highway-beautification-act dating back into the 1960's, and it was Lyndon B Johnsons wife which made efforts to seed these flowers all along the roads in Texas Hill country? So it is not just a coincidence these flowers are there in such a mass.

Thats what free camping in Texas Hill country looks like. Some blooming flowers pictures will come soon. Need more space or privacy? Guess not.
We reached our first boondocking spot now after we've spend some time at different state parks. But this exciting free park is located near Marble Falls at the Colorado River (there is more than one Colorado River). The days before we had spend at the thiny Blanco River state park: That one had a river for swimming of course, but even better, it had a Riverside-Bar with outside patio and karaoke night on Wednesday. Wanna see some 80+ year old guy singin country songs, its fun and the drinks are cheaper than in Austria http://www.blancoriversidebar.com/

Just booked our flight!
Our 1th trip for 2016. We fly to Dallas (March 13) and will fly home from Chicago (July 7). Everything is West from our point of view at the moment ;-)
This is just a rough plan, definately Hill country Texas in March, and New Orleans Jazz Festival at the end of April...then we might drive up to Arkansas, Memphis, Nashville...Great Smoky Mountains...??? ???? .. 4th of July in Chicago!
