💬 I Have a Confession…

I’ve always loved to travel, but I used to be a travel advisor’s WORST nightmare. 😬

❌ I didn’t plan ahead.
❌ I didn’t get travel insurance.
❌ I booked things last minute and hoped for the best.

I was supposed to be just getting back from Ireland right now, celebrating my birthday on a trip I’ve had planned since September. But life had other plans. In November, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, and as we learned more, we discovered she’d need a major surgery to remove it.

The surgery was scheduled during the same time as our trip. The moment we knew we would not be able to go on our trip, we immediately filed a claim with the travel insurance policy we purchased.

Keep in mind that when we booked this trip, we had NO IDEA that this diagnosis or surgery would be occurring just a few months later. We had every intention of going on this trip, as no one usually books with the thought of having to cancel.

While we all hope to go on our trips no matter what, sometimes life throws us hard, unexpected challenges that we can't control. In those moments, the last thing you need is the added financial stress of non-refundable travel costs.

I’m incredibly grateful I had travel insurance for this trip. It’s a reminder that life is unpredictable, and having insurance gives you the peace of mind knowing that if plans change, you’re covered.
