This is the BEST cruise deal I have ever seen. Virgin Voyages currently has 80% off the second sailor and up to $300 in free drinks. Bear in mind, there are no tips, free WiFi and the free specialty-class restaurants. To me, they are the best deal in cruising.

Sailing from Singapore in December 2025, the Disney Adventure will be their first mega-ship with a capacity of about 6700 passengers with a truly new design, several new restaurants and 7 themed areas. We all know that JK Rowling took a lot of inspiration from names, places and things around Edinburgh so we had to go see a bunch. You have to start in the Grey Friars Kirkyard which was the inspiration for the graveyard where Harry fought Voldemort. It’s also where she got a bunch of names from tombstones. She grabbed MacGonagall, Cruikshanks, Scrymgeur and, of course, Tom Riddell from here and tweaked the names for her purposes. Oh yeah, don’t forget the resident poltergeist in the “Black Mausoleum “ who became Peeves in the stories.

For fans, you just can’t miss the Warner Bros Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter. It’s amazing. The tour is overflowing with sets, props and costumes from the movies and videos to add details and stories. We spent 4 hours, counting lunch and could have gone slower.

We spent several hours in Oxford yesterday and still left items on our list for next time. What a cool town. The streets are brimming with buildings from the 1600s-1800s. I love that old architecture. This first structure is the oldest and it’s just 50 years younger than Hogwart’s. I do recommend hiring a tour guide to help you find the most interesting spots and fill in some details. Lots of history here, especially for writers and readers.
