On Wednesday we traveled to the ancient ruins of Philippi. Our devotional took place by the river where Paul baptized Lydia.

On Tuesday we went to a store specializing in making religious icons. Then we headed to Meteora to see the Hanging Monasteries. Our last stop was in Berea where Paul preached. Our overnight stop was in Thessaloniki.

On Monday we traveled back to Athens to see the Acropolis and onto Delphi to see the Hellenistic Museum and ruins.

Sadly, all good things must end, we woke up early this morning and left our cabins on the ship Celestyal to continue to northern Greece.

First stops was to Athens and a climb to the top of the historic Acropolis. Later, after a long bus ride we traveled up in the mountains to the town of Delphi.

We visited the Hellenistic Museum to see the Bronze Charioteer statue along with many other ancient statues and ruins.

I was amazed at the intricate details of the items and the tools used to create the various statues and household items.

As our long day on this bus took us to Kalambaka where we stayed at a lovely hotel. Tomorrow is another day driving north to Thessaloniki.

Sunday’s port of call was beautiful Santorini. The weather was perfect and the views were stunning. Later that afternoon we had a worship service on the cruise ship.

Sunday:

Today we were able to have a nice relaxing day enjoying the beauty of Santorini.

The day began with a lot of us NOT setting an alarm - what a joy that was to sleep in for a bit. After eating breakfast, we took a tender from the ship to Santorini, where we rode a cable car to the top of the island. There we found astonishing views, quaint little shops, and lovely houses. We could look back at our ship and watch the activities of the sea.

At 3:00 we met back on the ship for a worship service. We spent an hour singing and praising our God with a devotional thought by David Crocker. This was a wonderful time worshipping together.

Tomorrow we depart the ship at 7:00 am and return to our land travel to central Greece. First stop is Acropolis.

We again had an early start this morning as we started another day in Greece and moving on to Turkey for the day with a wake up call at 5:00. The only issue with this is as we traveled overnight from Greece to Turkey, the time changed by 1 hour, so some of us woke up at 4:00. Of course there was nothing opened so we got to wait until 5:45 for that first cup.

After a quick orientation of moving by groups off the ship and on to buses, we began our journey to Ephesus.

We arrive at the Turkish resort of Kusadasi, where we began our tour of Ephesus. We walked the marble streets and saw the fabled Temple of Artemis, another Wonder of the Ancient World, the Stadium and the Library of Celsus. After-wards, we cruised to the island of Patmos, where we visited the cave where John received the book of Revelation and the Monastery on the island

We've had a full and complete day. All is well. Good night

Good morning from Athens Greece,

Hope you all are doing well. We have had a tale of 2 McCluskey Tours. The flight from Atlanta to Frankfurt / Athens was uneventful while the trip from Atlanta to Paris / Athens came with flight delays resulting in a 12 hour layover in Paris airport. We all arrived in Athens tired but no other issues. After a few hours of sleep we did the “rise and shine” and pretended to be wide awake.

Our second day of travel included a trip from Athens to the Acropolis, Mars Hill and the Parthenon. Some of us walked up to the top of the Parthenon to a beautiful sight of the city below.

We returned to our hotel around 6:00 and had a delicious buffet and quickly called it a night.
