HUGE BREAKING NEWS FOR GENIE+!

From Disney:
Guests Can Now Modify Disney Genie+ Lightning Lane Selections over the past year, we’ve rolled out a series of helpful updates and enhancements to the Disney Genie+ service. We continue to learn and adjust as we hear from our guests, and are excited to share this update for both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

To make it easier to change plans on the go, guests are now able to modify Lightning Lane selections made with Disney Genie+ service, without having to cancel and rebook their selection. Guests can now quickly search for and select other available attractions or arrival windows, helping them maximize their time in the theme parks.

Guests may select the three dots icon on their Lightning Lane selection from the Tip Board or My Day tab of Disney Genie service, and then select “Modify Plan” from the menu that appears.

After selecting “Modify Plan,” Lightning Lane experiences available at the park where the selection was originally made will appear. Guests may adjust their arrival window to a different time that is currently available or may select a new experience to replace their Lightning Lane selection.

By selecting one of these options, the guest will be able to confirm the change. For guests who want to make a change for specific members of their party, they can adjust the party members prior to confirming the change.

Given the latest projections for Hurricane Ian, Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29. Disney Springs will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28. We anticipate Disney Springs will be closed on Thursday, Sept. 29, and we will provide updates as we continue to track the storm. We are monitoring weather conditions so we can make timely decisions for the safety of our Cast and Guests, including when it’s safe for Cast to return to the site to prepare for reopening.

Walt Disney World update on Hurricane lan: Walt Disney World is preparing for necessary operational adjustments based on the latest information from the National Weather Service First Round of Closures Announced!

Disney has announced closures tonight as Hurricane lan approaches- Disney Resort Hotels: Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort since these locations will temporarily close Wednesday, Sept. 28 through Friday, Sept. 30 due to the weather. We are contacting Guests with current and upcoming reservations.

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon will close temporarily Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29. (Disney's Blizzard Beach is currently closed).
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will also temporarily close Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29.

Reservations for Dining and Other Experiences: Effective immediately, we will not enforce cancelation policies until further notice for dining and other experiences like Savi's
Workshop and Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
Disney is currently monitoring weather conditions and will communicate any changes to park operating hours or special events at a later time.

✨ TRON Lightcycle / Run will invite guests to enter the Grid in spring 2023.

✨ Hatbox Ghost will materialize in 2023 at The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort!

✨ Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will open in late 2023.

✨ An all-new nighttime spectacular is planned for EPCOT during Disney’s 100th anniversary celebration.

✨ Fan-favorite character Figment will appear to meet park guests by the end of 2023.

✨ Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is coming to Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort in late 2024. Several members of the original film cast will return to lend their voices to the attraction, including Anika Noni Rose as Tiana.

On Batuu, the bounty hunting business is booming. MagicBand+ is the guide to seeking numerous virtual bounties hidden across Black Spire Outpost with the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters experience. Vibrations and lights on MagicBand+ guide guests down the right path. When you find your Bounty, use the Play Disney Parks app’s augmented reality thermal viewer to reveal who’s hiding in the shadows.** Local guild master Raga Bua will reward guests with galactic credits.

🎆 Nighttime Spectaculars
MagicBand+ brings the magic of Disney nighttime spectaculars closer than ever before during “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom Park and “Harmonious” at EPCOT! MagicBand+ complements the magic in the skies, lighting up and vibrating in sync with fireworks, visual effects, and music. Guests’ MagicBand+ will also engage as all four theme park icons transform into Beacons of Magic!

🔌 Before Guests embark on these experiences, make sure the MagicBand+ is charged, up to date and paired to a device.

🪄 Disney Resort hotel guests may purchase MagicBand+ online at special prices before their arrival. Annual Passholder discounts will also be available on MagicBand+. All guests can buy MagicBand+ at select stores across Walt Disney World and online at shopDisney, starting at $34.99.
