I don’t think I posted here (only on IG) but...we successfully trekked to the lovely natural state ♥️
🔐 deadbolts babyyyyyy! Our entrances can officially lock from inside and outside! ♥️
We’ve got running water to the sink!!! & to the shower..that isn’t completely installed yet 😅 but you get the idea
Issa shower, y’all!! So much has been accomplished this week. We’ve been working working working. Beds are framed ✅. Bathroom is mostly framed and walled ✅, front of the bus is framed ✅ and we’ve got the hardware to add the cabinet doors once I finish painting them. A few more woodworking touches and then it’s on to...the nitty gritty stuff like plumbing and wiring this big girl (the bus 🚌, not me😅 lol)
I think these walls will hold up ok 😅👍🏽
Dandelion Honey Prep ♥️
Today is a “no bus-fuss” day, so we extended our daily walk to do some dandelion harvesting for dandelion honey 🍯♥️ I’ve really wanted to try this for some time, and really glad we’re finally getting around to it.
Woot woot!! A nice wet rainy day and a wonderful water tank! Moving on up! Shout out to the wonderful FedEx workers who are keeping things going on the delivery front. ♥️🚌✌🏽
#Quarantainment
I guess I’d rather be painting than watching paint dry. Either way, I’m trying to stay busy.
I’ve picked up a few other painting projects throughout the building time, but the solid sealant for the walls is the most therapeutic one because...there’s no pressure.
Paint any direction, any pressure, anywhere!!
What is everyone doing with their quarantine time?
New floors, who dis?
We’ve waited for DAYSSSSSSS to be able to walk on a fully cured epoxy floor - and at last, the time has arrived! I don’t know if you can tell from my....whatever that is...but I was REEALLLLLLLLLY excited about this 😍😍❤️❤️
Today...was long. T finally got the floor prepped for the epoxy after some setbacks and a long walk. I finished a side project that won’t meet its other parts for a couple of week. BUT the work was all worth THIS dance break. This is the coolest kid I know 😎😎😎

♥️Why “The Red Bird Bus”??!!♥️
It’s never really easy to “pick” a name for something - even harder when that something is a labor of love, something for which you haven’t even completely imagined the final product...and still you must. You can’t just say “it.” Where is the love in that?
We had a million ideas for what we’d call our dream 2.0...but, we never really had a say, did we?
This handsome guy has been hanging out a LOT, and while I know he’s probably really impressed with himself in the mirror (or he’s so damn awesome that he even intimidated himself, hence the peck peck peckin’), I hoped there was more to it. He’s also got a lovely lady friend who doesn’t actually come perch on the bus, but she’s never far away.
I’m always looking to learn more about the connections between the spiritual realm and the natural world, & I needed a better answer. I wanted a better answer. So I looked into cardinals and folklore. Turns out, a cardinal can be a great omen of luck and fortune. It also happens, in many cultures, the red bird is believed to teeter the fine line of planes and can signify a loved one visiting you.
I lost both of my parents as a teenager - both due to sudden accidents, and both with practically no closure. And I did okay with it, all things being considered. But as I meander around the winding road of adulthood, not having that connection, that lifeline, that comfort, has been more and more apparent. Honestly, the last year & a half, I’ve both felt and missed their presence so intensely at some moments.
All this to say, I knew something was special about our birdy buddies, & for whatever reason they are hanging around, good luck or something deeper, I consider them some of our avid supporters at this point. And so, they shall be honored by namesake ♥️♥️♥️
Happy travels, let the adventure begin! ❤️🚌✌🏽
Some days are work days, and hard work happens! But some days, you just gotta chill 😎 Happy 4th to all celebrating today!
