Australian Railway Historical Society - Queensland Division

Toowoomba is such a fascinating city and yet many of its treasures are hidden. One such treasure are the honour boards at the Toowoomba Railway Station. These boards sit alongside the Mother's Memorial as nationally significant war memorials and yet they are seldom seen. They tell the stories of over 500 railwaymen who served in World War 1, as well as their mates who constructed the boards. What makes them even more fascinating is that we know the military service of every one of the men whose names adorn the boards.
Toowoomba Trails will show you these boards, and much much more, this Sunday as they explore Toowoomba's magnificent Railway Precinct. It really is a gem and so significant in the states history. So join with us especially if you are visiting for Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and immerse yourself in the wonderful stories and history surrounding the Railway Precinct.
