At one point in the 1990s, nearly 100,000 red phone boxes were on the streets of Britain. Nowadays there are only about 20,000 working boxes still out there. Thousands of non-working boxes have been turned into mini libraries, art galleries and plant displays, and some are even home to emergency defibrillators. Some, like the one beside me here in Bath, are merely decorative. 🇬🇧
