President Filipe Nyusi, addressed the nation on Sunday evening and announced new measures to contain and spread Covid-19 in the country.
1. Re-opening of casinos, museums, theatres, cinemas, auditoriums, galleries, cultural centres, not exceeding 40% of the capacity of the place and observance of the health protocol.
2. Opening of gyms, classes A and B, not exceeding 15% of the maximum capacity and compliance with health protocol .
3. Opening of the swimming pools of hotel establishments for the exclusive use of guests.
4. Extension of opening hours for shopping centres: on Sundays and holidays from 9 am to 6 pm. From Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm.
5. Extending the operation of bakeries, pastries from 5 am to 8 pm.
6. The curfew between 22:00 and 04:00 currently in force in Maputo and all provincial capitals will also be observed in: Manhiça, Chokwe, Maxixe, Gondola, Moatize, Mocuba, Nacala, Montepuez, Massinga.
7. Resumption of religious services, conferences and meetings and religious celebrations with participants up to 30% of the maximum capacity and not exceeding 50 closed people and 100 people in open places.
8. At State events, participants should not exceed 100 people.
9. Expansion of the maximum number of visits to penitentiary establishments.
10. Football championship Moçambola is authorised without public and conditional on Coid-19 testing.
11. Exceptionally, in justified situations and after a previous evaluation by the Ministry of Justice, conferences and meetings with a number of no more than 300 people may be authorised.
The new measures will take effect at zero hours on the next Tuesday, April 27, for the next 30 days. They represent the end of the pandemic ”.
