This rail link between Italy and Switzerland is one of the most spectacular on earth. This beast negotiates 55 tunnels, 196 bridges and mind boggling inclines with ease. The train is mostly windows, so you get a comfy front row seat to all the beauty of the Swiss Alps. Best of all…it’s taking you to your next destination: St. Moritz…the Euro-vibey $ki village…that is lovely in Summer, as it sits above a shimmering alpine lake. Your stay at the cool & artsy boutique Monopol Hotel, in the heart of the village, will have you feeling right at home. Bonus points for the hot tub in the spa that overlooks all that heart-melting scenery. BELLAgio!!! I just booked a trip to Lake Como. The lucky traveler will be staying at Residence La Limonera…a lovely villa hotel in an ancient lemon garden in the hills overlooking the lake. I envision many spritzes, boat rides, Clooney sightings, pasta and heartsy adventures. Buon viaggio!
