For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a Disney-obsessed gal; needless to say, becoming a Travel Advisor that specializes in Disney vacations is like a dream come true! Wondering what the buffets are like at an all-inclusive resort? Quite frankly, they’re fantastic and the breakfast buffet is my favorite! Fresh fruit, salad bar, eggs benedict ... all freshly made. However, the hands-down winner for me were the warm churros! YUM!! What are your favorite items on a breakfast buffet?

Saltwater fishing in the Dominican Republic is a sport unto itself. Besides finding a great catch for dinner, there are many opportunities to catch big and small fish alike. Enter the realm of innovation and culture known as EPCOT where the only thing required is your imagination and creativity. Luckily for guests, there are two entrances to EPCOT. The most popular is the main Spaceship Earth entrance where you will find the newly designed fountain inspired by bridging the past, present, and future of EPCOT together. The second entrance, called International Gateway, can be found between the France and United Kingdom pavilions. This entrance is typically less crowded and gives guests better access to certain attractions on that side of the park. If you haven't booked a vacation at an all-inclusive resort or on a cruise (or maybe it's been awhile), I know it can feel so daunting!! There are so many decisions to make, so many options, how do you possibly know what makes the most sense for your vacation? Did you know when you book through a Travel Advisor, not only do you get the same exact price as if you booked it yourself online (PLUS the option to make payments toward you vacation whenever you'd like), you get the added benefits of help planning your trip so you don't miss anything?
Here are 3 things I always help my clients with after they've book their vacation to go above and beyond.
1) Airport Transfers. This sounds so simple, yet I know oftentimes, people can panic at the thought of "I'm in a foreign country -- how do I get from the airport to the resort with someone that I can trust?" Travel Agents work with many different transfer companies across all of the islands. We know which ones are the most reliable and will only recommend those we know and trust.
2) Excursions. Whether you're taking a cruise or an all-inclusive vacation, you'll have the option to book excursions to venture off the beaten path and do something new and exciting. If you're on a cruise, I will always recommend booking excuursions through the cruise line -- if the excursion ever gets delayed getting back to the ship, the ship will not leave without you. I assure you, you'll be sad if you book an excrusion on your own and don't make it back on time... and that ship sails away with all of your belongings on board. For your excursions on your all-inclusive vacation, I can help make sure we're booking them through our preferred vendors once again so we know it's someone reliable where you'll have the best possible experience.
3) Extras. Even when you take a vacation that is "all inclusive" -- or even on a cruise where most things are included -- there will always be some extras you could add on to your vacation to kick it up a notch. Whether you're looking for some time at the spa, a special dinner at a restaurant that may not be included at certain all-inclusive resorts or on your cruise... I can help you plan ahead (and in some cases, make the reservations for you) so you don't miss out.

- Walt Disney World offers free celebration pins for Birthdays (as well as anniversaries, weddings/honeymoons, and 1st visits) that you can wear around the parks so everyone knows it’s someone’s special day. There’s nothing quite like wearing your Birthday pin around the parks so a bunch of strangers that see you wish you Happy Birthday all day long.
- Some bus drivers have been known to have the entire bus sing Happy Birthday en route to your destination.
- Restaurants will sing – they’ll decorate the table with confetti if they know ahead of time - and you can even order a celebration cake at one of your restaurants you’re dining at if you let them know you’d like to do that (this of course is based on availability).
- Want to do something a bit more? Treat your Star Wars fan to a Droid or Lightsaber building experience at Hollywood Studios.
- Treat your princess to a royal makeover the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
- Want a special gift? The florist at Disney can assist you with ordering a bouquet, balloons, or even special Birthday baskets to be delivered to your room.
- Maybe you want to upgrade your room (some resorts do have theme park and/or fireworks views!!)
- Book a special private fireworks cruise to view Happily Ever After or Luminous Symphony of Us -- they'll even decorate the boat for you at no extra charge!
- Turn your Walt Disney World vacation into a land and sea package and sail away on a Disney Cruise too!
These ideas are only scratching the surface – there are SO many ways we can make your child’s Birthday extra special. If you're not up on all things Disney, you may not be aware of how different Disneyland and Walt Disney World are from one another. While Disneyland Park and the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World have a lot of the same attractions (though some are slight variations of one another), there are a few things that really set the Disneyland Resort in California apart from the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
1) Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are literally located right next to one another. This makes it SO EASY for you to hop back and forth between parks on the same day if you'd like.
2) Disney California Adventure Park is like nothing that exists in Florida. While the park has made a lot of changes since it first opened in 2001, this park is something you'll only find in California... from Avengers Campus to Cars Land, to the iconic "Incredicoaster", this park is sure to have something to offer everyone.
3) You literally don't need to take a bus from anywhere at Disneyland to get to anywhere at Disneyland. The 3 on-site hotels are all walking distance to the parks, and even Downtown Disney where you'll find shopping and dining is walking distance.
One of the many bays in Hawaii would be a great place for stand-up paddle boarding (SUP). The water is perfectly calm and protected. TIP - A lesson with an experienced instructor is highly recommended if you’re a beginner. Have you done SUP in Hawaii? Where was your favorite spot?
What you're going to do on a day at sea will really depend on the cruise ship you’re on. Most people like to spend time at the pool – some more than others. While you’re out to sea, usually all of the outlets on the ship (restaurants, lounges, shops, even the casino) will be open. Maybe you want to treat yourself with a visit to the spa for a massage for the ultimate in relaxation. There will be activities (some for an additional fee) offered every single day. Wine tastings. Cocktail workshops. Workouts for the exercise enthusiasts. Live music at the pool. Cruise ships make sure there is literally something to offer everyone on a cruise so that even when you’re at sea all day, you will never get bored.
The great debate… when you fly, do you prefer a window or aisle seat?
Truth be told, I always use to prefer the window. I don’t typically sleep on an airplane (I tend to worry more when I fly as a mom now than I did in my younger years – and I realize it’s ridiculous but it’s a hard thing to change!!) but I always liked to have somewhere to rest my head when it did get tired, in case I was going to doze off for a few minutes. That being said, there’s nothing worse than having to go to the bathroom on an airplane when you’re sitting in the window seat and the person in the center or aisle is someone you don’t know and they’re sleeping. For that reason, I’m an aisle seat gal now.
What about you – window or aisle seat?
There's no questioning that a lot has changed since 2020 -- and travel is no exception. Booking vacations at the last minute was not much of a challenge pre-pandemic, but booking in advance has become more of a necessity for many reasons. While it's not impossible to get last minute cruise deals, booking in advance is necessary if you have specific room types, itineraries, or ships in mind. Disney Cruise Line recently released their Summer/Fall 2025 sailings, and NOW is the time to book! Not sure where to go? I've got 3 ships that are selling like hot cakes right now...
1) Disney Wonder has 5-9 night ALASKA cruises!
2) The brand new Disney Treasure is going to be rotating between 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises!

1) Depending on my mood, I've got the option of the lighter color schemes at the Beach Club Resort or darker colors of the Yacht Club Resort. Both have absolutely beautiful decor.
2) Did someone say WATERVIEW rooms? I love overlooking the lake toward the BoardWalk Inn -- I can see the hustle and bustle without feeling like I'm right in the middle of it. It's calm and serene.
3) The rooms with 2 queen beds also have a daybed to comfortably sleep 5 adults. The bathroom vanity has 2 sinks to make it easier for people to get ready as you start your day -- especially since the shower and toilet are separate from the vanity area.

Yes, the vast majority of my clients in the last 4+ years have been vacations to Orlando theme parks – but don’t forget, I book all-inclusive vacations and cruises, too. Whether you’re going away with the whole family or you’re looking for an adults only getaway, I am here to help you find your next perfect vacation! Beaches, Dreams, Nickelodeon, Palace, Hyatt Ziva, Royalton and Hard Rock offer some fantastic family vacation options in the Caribbean and Mexico. Not only are they all-inclusive, but they offer a wide array of activities plus have kids clubs if the parents need a break for some time alone. You can stay on-site the whole time without getting bored, or take some excursions to explore the area. Sandals, Secrets, Breathless, Hyatt Zilara, Zoetry and Le Blanc are incredible adults-only resorts to plan a getaway with some friends or your significant other. These all-inclusive resorts will have plenty for you to do if you stay on-site, while having lots of options of excursions to take off-site. Want to sail away? Whether you’re looking for a mega ship like the Royal Caribbean Oasis and Quantum Class ships, a more refined sailing experience like Celebrity or Princess, a bit more of a party ship like Carnival, an adult-only cruise with Virgin Voyages, or ships that give you a lot of flexibility (though sometimes with an extra fee) like Norwegian, I’m here to help you pick the right ship to match what you’re looking for when booking your next cruise. And if you’re not sure what you’re looking for, it’s my job to help you sort through all the options to find your perfect vacation.
The great debate… Do you bring a bag into the parks? As a mom, I absolutely always bring a bag into the parks. I use to have to bring a fairly large bag (hello diapers and bottles/sippy cups) but I’ve definitely been able to downsize a bit over the years. I try to keep it smaller so I don’t need to have a bulky bag on rides since we no longer have a stroller to leave a bag of random stuff on, but there is something to be said about having somewhere to shove things throughout the day – the unfinished bottle of water the souvenir your kid just had to have, etc.
If your Mediterranean cruise docks in Barcelona at some point, make sure you plan time to appreciate this stunning port city in Spain. La Sagrada Familia is kind of like the architectural north star in Barcelona. If you are lost, just look for La Sagrada Familia. Fun fact: This basilica has been in the process of construction for over 140 years and still isn’t complete! Visit now so that years later you can say “I saw it as it was being built!”
How many days do you need at Universal Orlando? That really depends on how much you're trying to accomplish. If you want to make sure you get to everything in both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, I'd suggest 3 days in the parks so that you're not feeling rushed to get through everything. If you want to be able to visit their water park, Volcano Bay, I'd add a 4th day (and make sure you're getting that 3-park ticket!) And if you want to have a little bit of down time to explore CityWalk or just relax at your resort pool -- and I do recommend this as this is the first thing I always hear my clients regret not doing -- I'd add an extra day to not have to rush anywhere. So my answer would be to plan for a 5-night stay with 4 park days to truly be able to get the most out of your vacation to Universal Orlando.

While I normally recommend a week long vacation when visiting Walt Disney World, I must say that Universal Orlando is a really great option for a trip on a 3-day weekend. If the theme parks are going to be your main priorirty, you've got plenty of time to explore both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Take some time to rest at the pool if you'd like. And don't forget to check out the dining, shopping and nightlife at Universal's CityWalk! Whether you're hungry for a full meal or just a quick snack (did someone say Dole Whip?), I cannot stress enough how AMAZING the Mobile Order option is. If you're not familiar with it, you have the option of ordering directly from your My Disney Experience account for select dining establishments. You can make modifications to your order in the app for your picky eaters if you need to as well! I suggest planning ahead of time so if you're set on eating at a specific time (especialy during peak meal times). You'll get to pick your pickup time and you can charge your order to your room, pay using a credit card, gift card, or even with Apple Pay. When you arrive at your desingated time to pickup your food, simply let them know in your app that you've arrived and they'll let you know where to go to pickup your food!
