Punakaiki is a real slice of paradise on the West Coast! 🌴

There are plenty of short walks and interesting places to explore, from the famous Punakaiki Pancake Rocks and Blowholes to nearby caves.

Rent a kayak from and paddle through the Pororari River—it really feels like you’re in Jurassic Park.

And be sure to end your day by catching a beautiful sunset on the beach.

Whitebait season is here! These tiny, translucent fry of small fish are a West Coast delicacy that’s fished only once a year. The season runs from the 1st of September until the 30th of October, so get ready to enjoy this treat at local restaurants and festivals along the Coast!
