Celebrating 2024 💙

Today, we celebrate the positive contributions that men make to our families, workplaces, and communities. This includes the incredible men who serve tirelessly on the frontline in the blue light community.

These men are sons, dads, and grandads who leave their families and miss special occasions every day to protect and care for others and sometimes make the ultimate sacrifice.

We also reflect on men’s mental health and the devastating impact of male su***de. Today is a reminder for us all to come together, raise awareness and take meaningful steps to support men who may be struggling.

Today, we pause to remember and honour the service and sacrifice of all those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

We also reflect on the Armed Forces and their families and the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.

It is a national opportunity to wear our poppies with pride and come together in gratitude and respect for all who have and continue to give so much.

We’re proud to support 2024 🚁

This week, we’re proud to support Air Ambulance Week and recognise the incredible work of UK air ambulance charities. Every day, dedicated teams of critical care medics respond to life-threatening emergencies, often within 15 minutes, bringing the hospital to the patient at the scene.

With over 45,000 lifesaving missions each year, these incredible teams are always ready to save lives, but they rely almost entirely on charitable donations to keep flying. Every mission costs an average of £4,110, and their work wouldn’t be possible without the donations 💚

Today, we stand together to raise awareness for World Su***de Prevention Day. Changing the narrative on su***de requires systemic change. It's about shifting from a culture of silence and stigma to openness, understanding, and support.

Research suggests that blue light workers are amongst the most likely to be impacted by su***de. A recent poll found that only 45% of people feel comfortable talking to family and friends about suicidal thoughts, compared to 74% who said they feel comfortable talking about mental health 💚

Today is a reminder for us all to come together, raise awareness, and take meaningful steps towards preventing su***de and supporting those who may be struggling to cope. Start the conversation today.
