Sightseeing in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Recoleta we had to stop at the Recoleta Cemetary where many notable people are buried including Eva Perón (Evita).

It was cool to see such amazing graves. In my hometown we bury our loved ones individually usually close to other family members. Here the family buys a plot, builds a mausoleum of sorts and bury their families all together with caskets exposed. Many even had staircases that led to an underground area.

So beautiful!

Make sure to check out the site of Rufina. Rufina was a girl that died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 19. She was buried and later when the site was opened to bury the next loved one they noted scratch marks on the roof. Apparently Rufina was not dead after all and was buried alive. By the time they discovered the error it was too late.

Celebrated Erasmo’s birthday by eating at the infamous La Brigada in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires.

The owner greeted us at the door and had them show us to our seats.

As recommended by our waiter we started with the Goat Cheese appetizer and ordered an Ojo de bife and Lomo for our main course. Meat so tender you could cut it with a spoon. 😱 The waiter recommended a fantastic bottle of Malbec.

The restaurant was soon filled to capacity with locals and tourist alike.

We had so much fun and the food was so delicious that we made reservations to come again before we leave.

Finally arrived to Buenos Aires for the first leg of our trip after a 3 hour delay in Houston apparently the plane didn’t have any phalanges (iykyk) and we had to go back three times. 😬

We spent the day touring the neighborhood of Recoleta and finished eating dinner at La Brigada for Erasmo’s birthday.
