Why I decided to be a Luxury Travel Advisor
For me, travel has always been about family. I inherited the travel gene from my parents and travel has shaped my life in countless ways. I have traveled to five continents and to most of the states. As a teenager, I spent a summer as an exchange student to Brazil, an experience which forever altered my life. I received both my BA and MA in Internationa
l Relations and worked as an International Banker for 11 years before retiring to have children. Through my three sons, I have enjoyed seeing their world perspective change as we explored the world together. I am happy to say that they also inherited the travel gene. I believe that travel strengthens bonds, transforms minds, and opens hearts to the beauty of the world. I have aligned myself with Largay Travel, a stellar travel agency with a 50 year history, and with Virtuoso. Communication is key to a successful trip. Once you book your trip with us, that is only the beginning of the process. We will communicate with you on the details of your trip as we finalize everything. In the background, we are working closely with our partners to make sure everything is planned in accordance to your wishes and that things like dietary restrictions, birthdays, etc. are remembered. Finally we make sure that you are VIPed throughout your trip. And if there is an unexpected hiccup along the way (eg airport closes due to a strike, etc.), we figure out an alternative solution.

One of the top hotels that my clients love in Paris is Esprit Saint Germain. It is a cozy hotel with just 28 rooms and has a fantastic location in my favorite area of Paris. Anju and her lovely family enjoyed an active self drive vacation in Sweden and Norway this past summer. They kayaked, biked, and hiked as they explored Stockholm, Oslo, and the fjords of Norway. We booked them into five star city hotels but also booked charming family owned inns for them in the countryside.

Robin contacted me over a year ago and asked me to plan a trip to Indonesia to see orangutans. From this inspiration, we created one of my favorite trips.
🦧 Their 23 day journey included a two night stay in Singapore and traveling to Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and Bali. Their lodging varied: from a simple eco lodge to their own houseboat to some of the world’s very best resorts. We arranged a wide variety of activities and experiences for this active couple including several guided treks, food tours, exploration of Indonesia’s great historic sites, blessing by a Hindu priest, cultural experiences, massages by a river, shopping tour at John Hardy, etc. plus some downtime to enjoy Indonesia. We took care of all of their flights, drivers, guides, hotels, tours/experiences, etc..
🦧 As Robin alludes to in her review, I have not personally traveled to Indonesia before which meant that this trip required extra research on my part which I loved doing. Although I have traveled to over 50 countries, I do plan trips for places that I haven’t yet explored myself and find that this is one of my favorite parts of my job. Let’s travel!

Last summer I attended a travel conference in Seville Spain and stayed at Casa de la Plata in Seville for a few days. I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely this 4* hotel is and have added it to the hotels that I recommend in Seville for those travelers who are budget conscious.
Casa de la Plata is in the historic district of Seville and close to many of Seville's sites and restaurants. As it is a newly built hotel, the rooms are large for an European 4* hotel and the bathrooms are modern. The hotel also has a pool and bar on its rooftop which is a perfect place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing.

La Vallon de Valrugues & Spa is a small hotel with 49 rooms, suites, and villas that is located a short walk from charming St. Remy de Provence. I especially liked the villas here which give you extra space and a private pool. 💫 With a focus on wellness, the hotel offers indoor and outdoor heated pools, a counter current swimming pool, a hammam & sauna, a fitness room, and 7 treatment rooms for spa services. 💫 Provence is one of my favorite parts of France and St. Remy is a wonderful location from which to explore the region.

Esprit Saint Germain is a wonderful boutique hotel located on the Left Bank of Paris in one of my favorite areas, Saint Germain des Pres. This 5* hotel feels more like a private residence with 28 rooms, suites, and apartments. ✨ Esprit Saint Germain did not waste the time it was closed due to the pandemic and renovated the entire hotel from top to bottom this past year. I love the different textures of this hotel. ✨ Featured in this video is one of the hotel’s apartments. It is exceptionally spacious for a hotel apartment in Paris and so well designed. I am busy getting ready for my work trip to France. Currently France requires that Americans be vaccinated in order to be allowed into the country without having to quarantine. A negative covid test is not a requirement but I did one for peace of mind. I used Abbott Labs’ BinaxNOW Covid-19 Ag Card which is approved by the CDC to reenter the US,. Make sure you buy the correct one if you plan to use this test to return to the US as Abbott makes another test with a similar name which is NOT accepted by the CDC. The testing process took just 20 minutes and was done via telemedicine. The results were immediately sent to my email. The whole process was easy peasy! I bought a package of six tests for $150 so it is fairly priced at $25 per test from emed.com (note: I understand that emed is temporarily out of these kits). If your hotel does not offer the required covid testing onsite to return to the US, I highly recommend this as an option.
