A couple of days ago I caught myself driving in a heavy storm from SJO Airport to Manuel Antonio, I can not stress enough how important it is to keep your eyes on the road! There were multiple branches and trees blocking at least one side of the road. 🌧
Moments like these really make me think of foreigners driving in Costa Rica, because we, locals, where pot holes usually are, the curves, and our way in these roads, but most of you don't know what to expect when you arrive.
These are just a couple of the tips I am able to share if you are planning to drive yourself around during rainy season. 🫂

👉Answer: Costa Rica widely accepts US dollars, I highly recommend handling smaller bills ($20s,$10s and $5s)!
💸It is important to know that exchange rate varies daily.
🔑Each business can also choose their own exchange rate, so be sure to ask what their exchange rate is before paying with your limited amount of cash. In some cases it may be best to pay in CRC with credit card and let your US bank do the exchange rate.

The only place you can securely book and purchase your entrance tickets to Manuel Antonio National Park is the SINAC online booking website.
This applies for all other national parks in Costa Rica.
