A two-year-old British boy is thought to be the youngest person ever to reach Everest Base Camp in Nepal

Ross Dallas took his son Carter to the Everest Base camp in Nepal.

Mr Dallas, 35, completed the trek with Carter on his back and alongside his mother, Jade, 31.

It is thought Carter is the youngest person to have reached South Base Camp.
The family reached the base camp in October 25

A short poem.

In Nepal, the mountains call,
A hiker’s paradise for all.
The trails are steep, but so are we,
With sturdy legs and hearts so free.

We start with sunrise and a smile,
And step by step we walk a mile.
The air is thin, but we’re alive,
With every breath we feel revived.

The path leads on, up higher still,
Through forests green and pastures still.
The peaks are waiting, soaring high,
With snow-capped tops that touch the sky.

We pause to rest and catch our breath,
Feel the sun upon our necks.
And breathe in deep the mountain air,
Forgetting all our worldly cares.

The summit’s near, we’re almost there,
Our hearts beat fast, without a care.
And when we reach the mountain’s crown,
We stand in awe and look around.

The world is small, up here so high,
And peace descends upon our minds.
With every step we take and roam,
We find our way back home.
