Did you know that you can catch stunning sunset views across Poole Harbour from Sandbanks? This is around 40 minutes walk along the prom from the apartments or a very short drive. Worth it for these views we think! Limited Summer Season availability now but some weekends still free. Checkout the website for details and to book.

Weve been busy all through winter and spring with our lovely guests.
It’s May - the bluebells are beautiful and the sea is stunning…

The weather is picking up in time for a gorgeous bank holiday weekend - and Old Harry was sparkling in the sunshine yesterday evening. This photo taken from the garden at The Pig on the Beach Hotel which is a short drive / chain ferry crossing away - a stunning location for a special meal or pizza in the garden.
One week just become available in our Family Apartment 21-28 August due to guests' plans changing. I don't think it will be available for long! Message for details if interested - the apartment sleeps 6 comfortably and has that all important underground secure parking space which is only a few steps from the beach.

Breakfast views on this stunning Spring morning.
It’s been a busy week welcoming our first post-lockdown guests, taking summer bookings and enjoying the sunshine.
This is one of our favourite breakfast spots and only a short stroll along the beach from the apartments.
We’re full for June, July and August in the family apartment but there’s some weekend breaks available in the studio.

We've just had a week become available in the large family apartment 7th to 14th August due to an event being attended by the guest delaying to 2022. This photo was taken yesterday evening from the West Overcliff looking towards Studland Dene showing its enviable position right behind the beach at Alum Chine. We don't think this week will stay available for very long!

The Alum Chine beach and Old Harry were sparkling in the spring sunshine last weekend. Not long now until our first guests arrive to start the new Staycation season. The diary is filling up fast... let us know if you would like a cheeky off-peak break.

We’re excited to welcome guests from 12th April.
Check in with us for Spring & Summer availability. The Family apartment is almost fully booked for July & August but there are some off peak weeks still available. The studio (which has a sofa bed for a +1!) has some availability for summer too. We can’t wait for sunsets like this over The Purbecks.

I don't know about you, but we are looking forward to this view from our balcony soon. Like everyone, we hoping for some good news a week today - and a date for UK holidays. We are almost full for the Summer holidays, but Easter and May half term are still available.

Summer in Winter! Who would have thought you could have your morning coffee outside in November. Taken a couple of weeks ago just before the current lockdown. Smell that sea air and enjoy the view - it is good for the soul.

Halloween full moon - taken yesterday evening from a Spyglass Point across the road. Autumn beach walks & a cheeky paddle by our youngest member of the party. Perfect pre-lockdown getaway.

At last our new super-comfy sofas have arrived. With the beautiful autumn sunshine showing off the new curtains we think our next guests will be quite at home later on today. New prints by a local artist to complete the refreshed look.

Good morning! I couldn’t resist sharing this photo taken at sunset last night. Royal Caribbean’s Empress of the Seas is the latest ship to be using our front garden as a parking lot. We think she looked to be made of gold.
We’ve had a busy week welcoming our first post-lockdown guests and Bournemouth seems to be coping really well with a gradual reopening. Come and see us soon - the 2021 diary is officially open!

Saying it with flowers! After almost 3 months our lovely guests have finally been repatriated and are almost ‘home’. It has been been our pleasure to have you to stay and to meet your lovely family. We’ll look forward to seeing you later in the year.

Bournemouth at its best

This photo was taken in March 2020. It was the end of our first weekend as the new owners of Apartments 18a & b Studland Dene. We have been looking for a holiday home on the South Coast for almost 3 years, but also conscious we wanted to make the home available as a holiday let. Many apartments in Bournemouth and the surrounding area are not allowed to be short-term let which made the search much harder.

Fast forward to August 2019 and a cheeky visit to visit friends for the long weekend. The weather was perfect, we even managed a swim in the sea on the hottest August bank holiday weekend I can ever remember. We enjoyed it so much we went back the following weekend for the annual Air Show - and that is when we chanced across Studland Dene. The block was built in 2009 on the site of a Hotel. Planning consent included a number of apartments that must be made available for short term let for a minimum of 6 months each year. Perfect for us in fact! A few of the usual UK home buying challenges to overcome (why oh why do we make it so complicated) and the deal is sealed. We became proud new owners on 3rd March 2020.

Studland Dene is located a very short few steps away from Alum Chine Beach. If you’re familiar with the area, our ‘local’ is Vesuvios! The block has a Concierge service, secure underground parking and an on-site Spa. Since the council trimmed the shrubbery on the top of the cliff, you have lovely views of the sea and right down to Bournemouth Pier from the terrace. Both apartments have large terraces with patio furniture and are open plan to the apartments via floor to ceiling glass doors. The apartments can be rented either separately or together - but rest assured if you rent separately the only common space is the shared entrance hall. Both apartments have their own lockable front door!

Since we took ownership we have replaced the TV’s with new smart ones, deep cleaned everything (including the patios) and generally updated some of the equipment. Over time we will continue with tactical improvements - for those of you who have visited our Florida home you’ll know what that means! Next on the agenda is new curtains and a fresh coat of paint - but probably not until after the Summer now. We would like to get on with the serious business of enjoying everything the South Coast has to offer.
