Zagreb was the first Croatian city we ever visited. It is inland so is different from many other coastal Croatian cities. There are many gorgeous buildings to admire and plenty of green spaces to enjoy.

Did you know there is a genuine Egyptian temple in Madrid?
The Temple of Debod is an actual ancient Egyptian temple, one of several under threat because of the Aswan Dam construction in Egypt in the 1960's. As a result of the help Spain provided, Egpyt gave this temple to Spain.
The temple is one of many great sites the Madrid Self-Guided City Walk takes you to.

Genoa (Genova) is a port city and the capital of northwest Italy's Liguria region. The city is known for its central role in maritime trade over many centuries.

In the old town stands the Romanesque Cathedral of San Lorenzo, with its black-and-white striped facade and frescoed interior. Narrow lanes open onto monumental squares like Piazza de Ferrari, site of an iconic bronze fountain and Teatro Carlo Felice opera house.

You will also see signs of the city’s most famous son Christopher Colombus.

Zadar was the first Croatian stay for us, and now we are regular visitors to this beautiful country.
The Bell Tower of St. Anastasia's Cathedral is a great way to get views all over the city. The tower is one of the stops on the Self-Guided City Walk of Zadar.

The Belfry of Bruges, Belgium is a medieval bell tower added to the market building in the year 1240. This magnificent structure can be seen throughout most of the Bruges Self-Guided City Walk.
The 83 metre high tower can be climbed via a narrow, steep staircase of 366 steps. The view over this stunning town is worth every step.
