🍦✨ There’s a magical place in Tuscany where you can taste an incredible, and quite unusual, sheep ricotta gelato—so good my son refused to share!
Welcome to Val d’Orcia, near the town of Pienza, just an hour south of Siena.
🌄 I brought my family along on a research trip for a new tour, and we visited @podereilcasale , an organic farm renowned for its sheep and goat cheese🧀
We explored the farm, fed the animals, and enjoyed their unique gelato flavors at the farm’s restaurant. Before leaving, I couldn’t resist buying some of their fresh and aged raw milk cheese. 🐑
Podere il Casale is a must-visit if you’re passionate about cheese-making and love farm-to-table dining.
Add it to your list for your next trip to Tuscany—you won’t be disappointed! 🇮🇹✨

🌟 It Takes a Village! 🌟
Help my friends Valentina and Nicolò from @poderelefornaci in Chianti to purchase new equipment for their goat cheese production! 🧀🐐
I absolutely adore their dedication to creating delicious, sustainable food while caring deeply for their “princesses”—their beloved goats. 🐐❤️

✨ Here are 3 reasons why I love their work so much:
➡️ They prioritize the well-being of their goats above all else.
➡️ They are true community builders, enriching other people’s lives.
➡️ When I was teaching in France, I had an identity crisis and considered moving to the Alps to raise goats! That’s probably why I feel such a strong connection to them.
Thank you for your support! 🙏❤️ #chianti#tuscany #goat#slowtravel
This was a brand new experience for me!🌿
I have been truffle hunting in wild oak woods, where the uneven terrain, scattered branches and the need to keep up with the dogs can turn it into quite a workout.
So, walking in a tartufaia was a pleasantly relaxing change of pace.✨
What fascinates me most is the love and passion that people like Giancarlo pour into their work with the land. Establishing a tartufaia is fraught with risks. Even if trees are inoculated with truffle spores, there’s no guarantee they will produce any truffles.
It’s a true labor of love, dedication, and patience.❤️

Piazza Santo Spirito❤️
A guest asked me why I chose this location for our stay in Florence during the tour. It's simple.
It's the last corner of Florence that still belongs to its people ✨
In the morning it has a small village's vibe, with older people walking around to buy groceries for lunch, while in the afternoon is full of children playing in the square while parents have coffee at the bar.
There's a weekly market, a monthly flea market and small family owned shops that have always been there.
While mass tourism has changed the city, forcing Florentines to live in the outskirts, this corner seems to have hold onto its identity. For how long? Who knows...
If you're interested in a tour that allows you to experience a place and avoid the more touristy sights, check our website. 2024 dates will be out soon 💫

Food plays a huge role in understanding Tuscan culture 🍽️
This is what one of our dear guest said about her experience during the Chianti tour ⬇️
'Food was central to our trip - and we had the best meals in Greve. My most treasured memories are of food
shared on tables laid out in the grass, eating our way slowly through farmhouse food, freshly made and
brought out one course at a time. Because this trip was also a family reunion, the conversations around the
dining table connected our family and its many generations in a different way'
