When you build a house in Hawaii on lava rock, it takes time to get a lawn, but we NEEDED Hale Kala (which means House of COLOR) to be full of color and beauty for our guests. 🌺 Here is a snapshot of a few of the beautiful plants that now call our property home. And we aren’t done! There is so much more in the works that we have planned in order to blow our guests away! 🌈 We cannot wait for you to experience this tropical paradise!!! 🌴

It’s been so quiet around here because we have been hard at work adding all of the last minute touches to make your stay more comfortable! We also named the home Hale Kala which means “House of Color”. Seems fitting, don’t you think?! 🌈😁🤙🏼 Work on getting the pool in will start in 2 weeks! So much excitement to come!!!

Don’t forget your sunscreen! The black sand beaches and lava rock attract the sun and while the temperatures feel perfect, your skin will not be happy by day’s end of its not protected!

We added some ambiance to the lanai behind the hammock chairs and can’t wait for our guests to enjoy peaceful evenings relaxing with a gorgeous sunset and twinkling lights while surrounded by the sounds of nature! Heavenly!

Be prepared to pull over on the side if the road frequently to capture the beauty of The Big Island. You will go home with amazing imagery, but no pictures can do justice to the beauty you see in real life!

Do you like adventure that is kid friendly? The Kaumana Caves might be fore you! Our home is equipped with the headlamps you will need to navigate these amazing lava tubes that go on for MILES! Be prepared with good tennis shoes, and people with claustrophobia beware! These spaces can get TIGHT!This adventure is sure to amaze kids and adults alike…and the best news, like MOST adventures here on the Big Island, it’s FREE!

Just a short drive from our home, you can visit Carlsmith Beach Park which is home to 14 turtles! They are so sweet and will swim around you and brush up against you if you are lucky! Don’t touch though, just enjoy their grace and beauty! It’s magic to witness!

You can live this sunrise every morning, too. It is a quick 4 block walk from the house. Bring your coffee, reflect, enjoy, breath it all in every morning.

Another amazing shot from our guest Channing Jack as they visited Kehena Beach just 30 minutes from our home. It is a black sand beach that is incredible for the beauty, waves and people watching! It’s a must see when you come visit our home!
