Flodden House, Berwick Upon Tweed (2024)

This is a large family home, well decorated and maintained. Most rooms have corniced ceilings and pine wooden floorboards. The house is fully double-glazed and cosy in the winter and cool in the summer. It can accommodate two sets of parents and children in comfort, and has enough space for privacy even when it's full of guests.

We are dog friendly but are unable to accept cats .

Our spacious, comfortable home has 2 sitting rooms, large dining room, 4 bedrooms (king, double, twin, single), 2 showers, 1 bath, 2 WCs and a fitted kitchen with breakfast table, all in Spittal's tranquil Conservation Area a minute or two from the seafront. Spittal itself has a wonderful beach, which kids and dogs adore. The village is very dog-friendly: dogs and owners are made very welcome - one family nearby leaves out a water bowl for doggy passers-by. Spittal beach is a magnificent 2km long beach which has seals, dolphins, otters and even the occasional basking shark and whale is just across the road from Flodden House.

Berwick is less than an hour away from the city centres of Edinburgh and Newcastle by train, very easy for a day trip. Spittal is on National Cycle Route 1 and the Coast and Castles South route. The house is in a great location for exploring the Northumberland coast (by foot, bike or car) and its amazing castles and hinterland. The house is close to the superb golf course at Goswick, as well as the Magdalene Fields golf course on the cliff tops in Berwick and also to the River Tweed itself - fishing gear is available if pre-booked.
