I took this aerial shot during one of our Namibia’s scenic fly-in safaris. In the midst of this arid wilderness of the Namibia Desert, a striking phenomenon unfolds.

In the heart of the desert, where the ocean’s reach extends during spring tides, a salt pan emerges. The remnants of evaporated seawater glisten in the sunlight, forming a pristine white expanse that starkly contrasts with the warm hues of the surrounding sand. The salt pan appears like a pristine canvas, untouched and serene, against the backdrop of the ancient desert.

This natural spectacle, born from the dynamic interplay of ocean and desert, captures the imagination and offers a glimpse into the raw, untamed beauty of Namibia’s wilderness.

From high above, the scene is both mesmerizing and humbling, a testament to the enduring forces of nature and the breathtaking landscapes they sculpt.

My favorite cat! I took this photo near Duba Explorers in the Okavango Delta. The scene’s tranquility is palpable as the leopard's intent gaze meets its own reflection, a fleeting moment frozen in time amid the vast and untouched landscape. Nature's poetry unfolds in this captivating snapshot, inviting viewers to appreciate the breathtaking allure of the big cat in its natural habitat.

I took this photo in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. Capturing a moment frozen in time, offering a glimpse of the lion's grace and dominance. As he takes a sip from the still pool, gentle ripples spread across the water, reflecting the tranquility of the natural surroundings. The play of light and shadow subtly outlines the lion's regal silhouette, highlighting its untamed strength and raw beauty in its natural habitat.

Download your complimentary e-book on aerial photography—link to our website in our bio. The thrill of flying low over the Okavango Delta is an experience that words can hardly capture. Serpentine channels weave through a mosaic of emerald green papyrus reeds, creating a living labyrinth that's home to an astonishing diversity of wildlife.
Capturing this moment is a privilege, but no photograph can do justice to the feeling of awe that fills the heart when flying low over the Okavango Delta.

On this special Ranger Day, let us take a moment to praise and honor the brave and dedicated wildlife rangers who tirelessly and selflessly devote themselves to the crucial task of fighting poaching. These remarkable men, women and K9 friends are true guardians of nature, protecting some of the world's most magnificent and endangered species from the threat of illegal hunting and exploitation.
Their commitment and determination in the face of danger and adversity deserve our utmost admiration. Day and night, they patrol the vast landscapes of Africa's diverse ecosystems, often risking their lives to safeguard the incredible wildlife that calls this continent home.
These rangers play a vital role in preserving the delicate balance of nature and conserving our unique biodiversity. By combating poaching, they are protecting iconic species such as rhinos, elephants, lions, and pangolins and contributing to the health and sustainability of the entire ecosystem.
Their job is not easy, as poachers can be ruthless and well-armed. Yet, with unwavering determination and a deep sense of responsibility, these wildlife rangers continue to work tirelessly to deter illegal activities and bring poachers to justice.
Their dedication goes beyond law enforcement; they also actively engage in community outreach and education, building relationships with local communities and raising awareness about the importance of conservation and the need to protect these magnificent creatures for future generations.
Thank you for being true heroes of nature!

Massive tracks!😀 Evidence of the Desert-dwelling elephants, Namibia.
Desert elephants are not a genetically distinct species of elephant, but are African bush elephants with unique characteristics. These elephants have made their home in the Namib desert in Namibia

It is estimated that the population of desert-dwelling elephants within the main riverbeds; Ugab, Huab, Hoarusib, Hoanib, and Uniab to be approximately 150 elephants.

Happy days!!! Customers enjoy the sun and sea while on the Sandwich harbour tour, Namibia.

Sandwich Harbour, a little less than 60km south of Walvis Bay in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, is one of Namibia’s most unique and dramatic sites. Here some of the world’s highest dunes descent into the cold Atlantic Ocean to form a picturesque lagoon.

Exclusive Fly-in Safaris:
An aircraft gives us a bird’s eye view of the earth below, and the results can be fascinating. Seeing how rivers and waterholes affect animal routes, spotting jackals looking for seal pups on the Skeleton Coast, marveling at the shapes of Etosha National Park’s salt pans, finding a lone Oryx on the crest of a massive Namib Desert dune – with no water in sight for miles, or flying along the coastline, creates spectacular photographic opportunities.

I took this photo in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. The sausage tree of sub-Saharan Africa has beautiful flowers. The blood-red to maroon flowers hang in long panicles. The flower’s fragrance is not pleasing to humans but attracts the Dwarf Epauletted Fruitbat, its pollinator.
As the flowers drop from the tree, animals come to feed on the nectar-rich blooms. Impala, duiker, baboons, bush pigs, and lovebirds all feed on these flowers. Grey sausage-like fruits grow out of these flowers to become over a foot long and weigh over 10 pounds.

I took this photo in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. The bird you commonly see around Cape Buffalo (One of the Big 5) are red-billed Oxpeckers. The Oxpeckers perform a symbiotic relationship with large, hoofed mammals like Giraffes, Antelope, Zebra, Cape Buffalo, and Rhinoceroses. They sit on the buffalo, eating ticks and insects. They also warn the buffalo if danger is nearby.
The Oxpecker will spend his entire life on his hosts, except for nesting.

I took this photo in Zambia, Kafue, and it still is one of my favorite lion photos. The two young lionesses came to greet their mother after a failed hunt.
In Tanzania, home to as many as half of all the wild lions on earth, the population is in free fall, having dropped by half since the mid-1990s to fewer than 10,000. Across Africa, up to one-quarter of the world’s wild lions have vanished in little more than a decade.

Anton Mzimba had worked at Timbavati for 25 years, dedicating his life to the protection of wildlife. “This week was a heartbreaking reminder of the huge challenges our wildlife protectors face, and just how imperative it is to continue to support them in every way we can. We share our condolences to all those who have had the pleasure of walking alongside Anton. Those who have followed his journey, his footsteps, his passions,” Anton Mzimba - The courageous head of ranger services at Timbavati reserve, South Africa, was gunned down in cold blood this week. His wife was also shot and is fighting for her life.
We salute our men and women on Ranger Day. Around the globe, park rangers are on the front line in the fight to protect our natural heritage. World Ranger Day offers a chance to support their vital work, which ranges from environmental campaigning to education. The day is also an opportunity to pay tribute to rangers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Rest in peace Anton Mzimba.

African Aerial Safaris -” Where the journey is the destination.”

The idea of African Aerial Safaris originated in 2016 when Willem and Riaan embarked on a flying trip with a light two-seater aircraft through South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. We got this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fly over some of the most incredible scenery in Southern Africa. When we started looking at maps we realised how important planning was going to be. There was just so much to see, and the only way to make sure we didn’t miss anything was to methodically plot each place of interest on a map and then connect the dots. All the planning paid off, and most of our time in the aircraft during those twelve days was spent in awe at the scenery unfolding below us. Up to that point we had done many safaris before, but the combination of the spectacular scenic journey by air, followed by the up-close and personal safari on the ground took the whole experience to a new level.
