Liyangasthota weir is a fantastic location for bathing ,relaxing and photo shoot , which is constructed
across river Walawe. This place has unbelievable cool temperature and calm and clean environment
eventhough it is situated in harsh extreme hot area. There is no doubt that visit to Liyangasthota weir will
be unforgettable experience to nature lovers. Everyone can enjoy surrounding flora and fauna ,specially
the giant trees in the banks of river Walawe and lovely activities of monkeys.
This weir was constructed in 1889 during british colonial period. This had built across river Walawe to
divert the water to Ridiyagama tank and Lunama area.The weir is 240ft long, 57.65ft high and has a width
of 68.69 ft at the crest . The left bank consist with two sluice bays .Specified command area is 6770 acres.
The length of the main channel in the right bank is 3300ft .The sill level is 58.19 ft. Specified command
area is 6815 acres.
The weir shares with two provinces, Southern and Sabaragamu. This is situated near to Angunukolapalassa
and Ridiyagama areas .Travelers can easily arrive to subways of weir via Embilipitiya - Nonagama(A 18)
highway. Also travelers who travel via Southern expressway can use Barawakumbura exit to reach this
destination.
Famous travelling destinations situate near Liyangasthota weir are Ridiyagama Safari Park,Madunagala
Sanctuaries and hot water springs,Godawaya,Ussangoda National Park and Ramba Raja Maha Viharaya.

වලවේ ගඟ හරස් ව කොට දකුණුලක තුල ඉදි කර ඇති සුන්දර ලියන්ගස්තොට අමුන
ඡායාරූපකරණයට,ස්නානයට හා පාරිසරික චමත්කාරය අත්විඳීමට ඇති සොඳුරු
තෝතැන්නකි. ඉතාමත් ශුෂක් පරිසරයක් තුල ශාන්ත භවකින් හා සිසිල් භවකින්
සමන්විත භූමිභාගයක් වන ⁣මෙහි හරිත පැහැය දුටුවන් සිත් ඇඳ බැඳ තබා ගනී.මෙහි ඇති
විසල් රුක් ගොමු හා ඒ තුල වාසය කරන වඳුරන්ගේ සොඳුරු ක්‍රියාකාරකම් ඔබට අමතක
නොවන අත්දැකීමක් වනු නොඅනුමොනය.
1889 යටත් විජිත සමයේ ඉදි කර ඇති මෙය මගින් වලවේ ගඟ හරස්ව කොට එහි ජලය රිදියගම
වැවට හො ලූණම ප්‍රවේශ වලට හරවා යවයි.මෙම අමුන අඩි 240 දිගකිනුත් , අඩි 57.65 උසකින්ද
සමන්විතයි.මෙම අමුන මගින් විශාල භුමි ප්‍රමාණයක් කෘෂි කාර්මික කටයුතු සඳහා අවශ්‍යය
ජලය සපයයි.
සබරගමු හො දකුණු පළාත් වලට මායිමේ පිහිටා ඇති මෙම අමුන අඟුණුකොලපැලස්ස හා
රිදියගම නගරවලට තරමක් නුදුරුයි.ඇඹිලිපිටිය- නෝනාගම මාර්ගය භාවිතා කරන්නකුට
ඉතාමත් පහසුවෙන් ලඟා විය හැකිය. එසේම දක්ෂිණ
අධිවේගී මාර්ගය භාවතා කරන්නන් හට බරවකුඹුර පිටවීම භාවතා කොට මෙහි ප්‍රවේශ
මාර්ගයට පිවිසිය හැකිය.
මෙම අමුනට පැමිණෙන අ⁣යෙකුට තවත් සුන්දර සංචාරක ගමනාන්ත කිහිපයක් නැරඹීමට
අවස්තාවද ඇත.(රිදියගම සෆාරි උද්‍යානය,මඳුනාගල,ගොඩවාය,රම්බොඩගල රාජ මහා විහාරය , උස්සන්ගොඩ)

Godawaya is a small village where people are engaged in fishing. As well as
it can be called as a sanctuary area due to environmental conditions. It belongs to
Hambantota district and situated between Ambalantota and Hambantota near
the river mouth of the Walawe river.The river is now flowing to the sea from
Ambalantota 3 km west to Godawaya. The mouth is blocked by a narrow sand
strip, time to time it gets cleared by floods or the villagers have to create an
artificial outlet at the river mouth to divert the flooding.
Its possible to reach this place within in one and half hours from Matara
along Tangalle-Hambantota road , 103.4 km away from Matara. Due to the
location, we can see a severe dry climate throughout the year and there is always
a gust of sand.Its pretty much difficult to approach to destination because of
dilapidated road.Anyway reminding us that the best view comes after a difficult
journey, we are able to enjoy this beautiful destination.

ගොඩවාය යනු මසුන් ඇල්ලීම ජීවිකාව කොටගත් කුඩා ගම්මානයකි. එමෙන්ම මෙහි පවතින සුවිශේෂී
පාරිසරික තත්ත්වයන් නිසා හා විවිධාකාර සත්ව සමූහයන් නිසා එය අභයභූමි ප්‍රදේශයක් ලෙස ද හැඳින්විය හැකිය.
හම්බන්තොට දිස්ත්‍රික්කයට අයත් මෙම ස්ථානය අම්බලන්තොට සහ හම්බන්තොට අතර පිහිටි වලවේ ගං මුවදොර අද්දර පිහිටි රමණීය පෙදෙසකි.
මාතර සිට පැය එකහමාරක් ඇතුළත මෙම ස්ථානයට ලඟා විය හැකි අතර
මාතර සිට කි.මී. 103.4 ක් දුරින් තංගල්ල-හම්බන්තොට ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයට ඔබ්බෙන් පිහිටා ඇත. වසර පුරා දැඩි උණුසුම් බවක් උසුලන මෙම ප්‍රදේශය වැලි මිශ්‍රිත සුලං ධාරාවන්ගේ තෝතැන්නකි. එසේම මෙම ස්ථානය අවට මනරම් බෝට්ටු සවාරියක යෙදීමට අවස්ථාව ලබාදීමට ද EETISS UOR වන අප කටයුතු කරමින් පවතී. ඡායාරූපකරණයට , පර්යේෂණ වලට මෙන්ම නිදහස් නිවාඩුවක් ගත කිරීමට ⁣ගොඩවාය කදිම තෝතැන්නක් වනු නොඅනුමානය.
අබලන් වූ මාර්ගය ගමනාන්තයට ළඟාවීම තරමක් අපහසු කරන නමුදු මෙහි සුන්දරත්වය විඳ ගැනීමට එය කිසිවෙකුත් බාධා කර නොගන්නා බව නම් නිසැකය..

If a place where a person or an animal feels it ought to live and belong, it is where nature around you feels right and welcoming. The best example for that is KIRALA KELE SANCTUARY.
KIRALA KELE is an area covered with mangrove forests in the south of Sri Lanka. It stands today as a key habitat for wetland biodiversity in the country.
KIRALA KELE is one of the most important children of mother Nilwala.🌊
KIRALA KELE is not only a wetland, it is also a birdland to many wonderful birds. 🐦🦜🦆

Ussangoda is a place of natural beauty and a designated archeological site in Southern Province Sri Lanka. It is also a very different,quiet and almost deserted nature reserve with beautiful views of the surrounding area and the ocean with beautiful beaches. Well spanned plain land with several plants is unique scene of this place. This place is suitable for even film or teledrama shooting or wedding photoshoot because of the nature of area. Also people have some mythologies and annals about this place. There are 26 species of flowers, 29 species of plants and different species of birds and butterflies and the unique red color soil of the land help to gain the beauty of this wonderland and also it cause to local and foreign researchers do their investigations in here. If you are going to visit southern province in Sri Lanka it’s inevitable thing to visit Ussangoda.
