Coming down from Grouse Mountain. The grind is still closed so I hiked the almost 800 meters of elevation in only three kilometres on the BCMC trail. It was snowy at the top for the last half hour. But man alive, it was steep. I started huffing and sweating immediately. Felt good to switch up the way I move. Cross training!

Fat biking was not the best idea today. We pushed our bikes up the sugary soft snow to the sun cabin… but sometimes it’s not about the riding but the people.
I didn’t take pictures because I was having such a good time in the cabin, getting to know new people. Last year a family from Chile gave us a sandwich that they had wrapped in tinfoil and gave us all gooey and cheesy from the stove in the cabin- they always made an extra one in case they met someone who needed it. Paul and I started to do this as well. Sure enough we met someone who was hungry today as we all warmed up next to the wood stove.
Here is to sharing a sandwich. It isn’t much but man does it ever make someone’s day. I love new friends
