Horta is a single municipality and city in the western part of the Archipelago of the Azores, encompassing the island of Faial.

The marina is a primary stop for yachts crossing the Atlantic, and its walls, and walkways are covered in paintings created by visitors who noted the names of their vessels, crews, and the years they visited. Peter‘s Cafe Sport, which is located across from the marina and houses the island‘s scrimshaw museum, a collection artifacts carved from whale tooth and jawbone, is a point of reference for trans-Atlantic yachtsmen and sailors. Caloura is located in Água de Pau, Lagoa municipality on São Miguel Island , Azores archipelago.

In summer, Caloura welcomes tourists from all over the world, especially for its magnificent blue coast and its natural pools, which attract attention for the lush nature, making it a place of relaxation and tranquility.

Another highlight is the Porto da Caloura, set on a high cliff of basaltic rock and near the Convent, being used by boats and fishermen in the region. Around the harbor stand the vineyards under shelter of black volcanic stone grounds.

When visiting São Miguel Island, be sure to visit Caloura, one of the most beautiful tourist spots on this island and a great bathing option.

This is one of the archipelago‘s wettest islands and abounds in vegetation, as well as some wild and different landscapes of the remaining eight islands.

The name Flores is fully justified due to the myriad of flowers and plants – with many seeds having been carried over from Florida by migrating birds – that grow on this island and make it one of the most beautiful and colourful.

Basalt predominates here, in the form of high plateaus where waterfalls stand out on their steep rocks. It also has a fantastic view of the smaller island of the Azores archipelago, Corvo.

Flores Island is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the Azores.

Gonçalo Velho Lighthouse is located on the edge of the Castle, in the parish of Espírito Santo, in the island of Santa Maria in the Azores. It opened in 1927 with a square tower 14 meters high mad out of stone. Its red flashlight achieves a brightness of 54 kilometres.

Located in a sheltered bay with direct access through the centre of the city of Horta, Porto Pim Beach is the most visited on the Island of Faial. Positioned in a beautiful natural setting highlighted by Monte da Guia, this beach provides great facilities and an extensive sandy area bathed by an ocean with few waves, making it ideal for families with children.

The bay of Porto Pim also has great historical importance, since it was here that the first settlers of the island arrived in the 15th century.
