Rimbick to Sirikhola - a small village on the riverside with only a handful of lonely homestays, is a six-kilometer pleasure walk along a more-or-less even road. When I first came to Rimbick in 2014 it was a gravelly trail; it was metalled and became a road (on which small vehicles and two wheelers could ply) in 2015. To me, some of the excitement of strolling down a meandering trail through the lush elder and pine forest was lost thereafter but compulsive walkers (who abhor the idea of hiring a vehicle for small distances and prefer to walk) can still derive a lot of pleasure. I took this photo of a lissome waterfall cascading down from about 10,000 ft into the ravine to meet river Siri (Sirikhola) on one of my late morning walks along this road which is still very much a trail to me.

Highlights of Rimbick - Gateway to Singalila. SRI KHOLA BRIDGE

The iconic bridge of river Srikhola which unites with river Rammam.
Trekkers come to this bridge during the end of their Singalila Sandakphu Phalut Trek, nearby this bridge there is a GTA trekkers hut and many other homestays and not only trekkers but other tourists also come here to stay a night and they take pictures and spend quality time nearby the riverside.

Rimbick is a beautiful hamlet situated at the northwest end of Darjeeling district which is famous for it's natural vegetation and rich resources. It is the oldest and trekking halt for the trekkers.
It is the last market of the entire Singalila National Park with sincere and hard working people with welcoming gestures.
If you are real trekker, this is the perfect place to start a fresh trek without noise and pollution. Sandakphu, Moley, Phalut, Gorkhey are nearby destinations from Rimbick.

Darjeeling Walks Founder Explorer Anirban have come together to travel to Rimbick with Migma Girmi Sherpa, Founder of Rimbick Fresh & Trekscape. They will be exploring Rimbick in a completely fresh perspective to rejuvenate and restore Rimbick as a Gateway to Singalila.
Rimbick has served as the potential gateway to Singalila National Park since many decades. However due to lack of adequate awareness and understanding it still requies professional support to flourish in its original metaphors.
We hope to bring Rimbick back to its bygones and let the people of this place find empowerment through this initiative.
