During our first week in Australia, we saw wild kangaroos & wallabies ON A BEACH, watched wild platypuses (not platypi since the word doesn't come from Latin) play in a river, found 3 wild echidnae, and saw TWENTY-THREE wild koalas (3 were baby joeys) when we went koala spotting yesterday!

We've seen and done a LOT of amazing things over the last 5.5 years of full-time travel, but this week is one of our best yet!

From polar sunrises to encountering charismatic wildlife in their natural habitat our trip was the best Antarctica cruise for families we could have imagined! If you're planning a budget-friendly trip to Antarctica for your family our article has you covered!

We're cruising through the Great Pacific Garbage Patch today. You can't look anywhere without seeing plastic. And that's just a tiny portion because most are microplastics under the surface, down 30ish feet.

That said, I saw several plastic plates, a rope, a few water bottles, and even a bucket on the ship nature walk this morning. 🤮

If anyone thinks the garbage patch is made up to push an agenda, I can safely say that's completely incorrect...please don't litter y'all.

Cruising is fun as we get to learn new things. Here we are practicing a hula dance today.

Cheers to our next adventure! We sold our trusty 4Runner today to a great guy chasing his American Dream. If you need an amazing electrician in the Seattle area, let us know and we'll give you his info.

We haven't been online much lately because we had a mere month to drive Cancun->Washington DC->Toledo->Chicago->Rapid City->Boise->Seattle.

It was bananas busy and we didn't manage to see a fraction of the people we wanted to, in part because our best laid plans had some major wrenches thrown in.

But we're SO grateful to the people who fit us into their busy schedules and those who let us (literally) crash on their couches when plans went awry.

Highlight pics from our US trip are coming soon...stay tuned! 😎
