Donkey
The donkey is said to come from the African wild ass. It has been used as a work animal for ages.
Mule (Mula in Spanish)
A mule is a cross between a male donkey and a female horse. Generally, they are sterile, since a horse and a donkey have a different number of chromosomes. Mule are very sure footed. We ride lots of mules in Baja!
BURRO
A burro is a small, wild donkey. And burro is Spanish for donkey. We encounter lots of wild burros in Mexico š²š½.
And a Jackass
So a jackass is an irritating human, right? Well, a male donkey is called a jack and a female is a jenny or a jennet. Hence, a jack-ass (or jackass) is a male donkey.

So much to explore & experience in Valle de Guadalupe in northern Baja California. Last week I made a point to visit these locations & highly recommend to Baja travelers. Met Ensenada locals & people from Brazil. World class restaurants, experiences & vino in my backyard here.
Fauna - 8 course meal. Some of the best food Iāve ever had. Excellent service, pricey but worth it to treat yourself. Voted in top 50 best restaurants in Latin America.
Malva - nice surprise. Enjoy outdoor seating on hillside with view. Excellent 4 course meal. Check it out.
Vena Cava - original & non sulfite vino in the heart of the valley.
Santo TomƔs - this is my favorite vino that is produced here. Bought another olive oil bottle.

Just another epic off-grid adventure in northern Baja California. Off-roading to the best hot springs in northern Baja was totally worth it. Our adventurous chicas only trip was a blast & we will definitely be offering this adventure again next year!
šµš¤ Tecate was hectic on DAY 1. Long wait to get into Mexico. We made lots of stops along route for fun.

Hurricanes Kay in 2022 & Norma in 2023 completely wiped out roads & arroyos, boulders & palm trees on route to this beautiful canyon. Part of the road has been worked on & graded. The canyon is completely different now.

From class 3 boulder hopping to taco feasting, this Baja adventure had it all. We hiked & climbed to very remote cold pools & water falls.
The stillness of this magical location draws you in. Our bodies craved the natural mineral water from within the mountain. Baja does a body good.
Of course, stargazing is best at these very remote desert locations. 2am potty break is also a time to look up & reflect on life. So beautiful & clear.
Day 4
Another fun day of off-roading. We HAD to stop & order tacos to go at our FAVorite place in Tecate. We eat tacos in border line as we wait to cross north. Only 1.5 hour border wait at Tecate -not bad for mid week.

Itās the year of the horse for me I guess. Participated in my second Calbalgata this year. šš“Calbalgata is basically an organized horse ride, fiesta & lots of food!
šµRancho Alamar hosted this calbalgata in northern Baja. The owners are so hospitable & kind. The Sierra Juarez mountains offer tons of great backroads & trails to explore.
We will definitely be offering more trips to this beautiful remote rancho. Itās a super fun scenic drive in & out of the Sierra Juarez mountains. Unlimited photography opportunities & great location for dark sky photography too. Baja never disappoints!

When in Baja we always check out lots of cool places.
Definitely stop in at Dulce Altura PanaderĆa in La Rumarosa, Baja California. Itās a big bakery & restaurant with cool architecture inside & out. Fresh baked goods & local cheeses. I have not had enough time to sit down & eat here but the goat cheese & baked goods are really good.#adventuretravel #bajaadventures
Yupā¦ this is Baja California. This location has 2 restaurants. One is managed by a husband & the other by a wife. This location is an easy 1 hour from the border.
Tip: Go here during the week as weekends are way too busy.
Excellent ambience, architectural design & ocean views. Food ok, service was good.
