Walt Disney World Resort Hurricane Milton updates:

-Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1:00 P.M. on 10/9

-Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney Springs will close at 2:00 P.M. on 10/9

-Theme parks are likely to remain closed on Thursday, October 10, 1024

-Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Thursday, October 10 has been cancelled 🎃

-Walt Disney World Transportation will stop operating after Disney Springs and the Walt Disney World theme parks close on 10/9

-Typhoon Lagoon, Winter Summerland Mini-Golf, and Fantasia Gardens Mini-Golf will be closed on 10/9

-Cancellation policies will not be enforced on dining and other experiential further notice.

- Pre-paid bookable experiences will be automatically refunded within 7-10 business days

FOR AWARENESS: This Wednesday, Oct. 9, DFW Airport will be conducting a full-scale emergency exercise. The drill will include simulated emergency response activity on airport property between 8 a.m. and noon. If you see emergency vehicles or visible smoke from the exercise during that time, please be aware that this is just a simulation. There may also be increased traffic on W. Airfield Dr. during that time.

FYI!

Spirit Airlines has downgraded 100 captains and has announced furloughs for 240 pilots and stopped accepting orders from Airbus. The company has lost money 5 of the last 6 quarters with expectations of 30% loss this quarter. Long term debt comes due next year. Their stock has dropped 82% this year.

I am not providing investment advice but I am a bankruptcy attorney. This company has every red flag of imminent insolvency. I predict Sprit will be in bankruptcy before Christmas and they will likely never emerge to normal operations .

Make informed decisions when purchasing air travel….

"The greatest vacation yet!! Brittney made our family fun Disney vacation effortless! This will make it the third Disney trip where we have used Brittney and once again, she never fails to deliver on the most memorable get-away. Not only did she save me hundreds of dollars, (even after we reserved our resort she managed to find us additional discounts), but she also surprised us with added extras! She provided my family and I with an itinerary that bypassed all the tedious annoyances of planning so that I was actually able to enjoy the trip. Just an FYI!

🚨 Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will soon be making changes to their Disability Access Service - DAS. These changes will become effective May 20, 2024, at WDW and on June 18, 2024, at DLR. 🚨

DAS was previously in place to assist guests who have difficulty tolerating long queues due to a disability. The updated system is intended to accommodate "only those guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar," are unable to wait in long lines.

Disney will work with Inspire Health Alliance's health professionals to help Cast Members (when necessary) determine a guest's DAS eligibility. DAS is for guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in line for a long period of time.

Effective May 20 at WDW, guests meet virtually with a Cast Member before arrival to determine eligibility. Day-of registration must also be done via virtual chat. Effective June 18 at DLR, guests can meet virtually with a Cast Member before arrival or day-of at Accessibility Services window.

Notable changes:
- DAS Advance pre-arrival attraction selections will no longer be a default offering to every DAS guest
- Current DAS guests will need to re-apply
- DAS party size max 4, limited to immediate family members (exceptions may be made for larger families with minor children)
- DAS enrollment eligibility increases from 60 to 120 days

Disney will also introduce a defined "return to queue" process for guests who need to leave a queue and re-enter. More information about this process will be shared closer to launch of the new system.

For those with questions or who need to explain more about their situation, Disney encourages guests to reach out to the DAS team for a conversation.
