Welcome to Virtual Travel Japan.
Today, I would like to introduce Fukugi trees in Bise, Okinawa where about 20,000 Fukugi trees line up. it is close to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, and also a popular spot where you can heal your mind just by walking between the trees. Fukugi is written in kanji as "福木" and is said to be a tree that brings happiness (幸福), and is also known as a power spot in Okinawa.

Today, we are pleased to present the virtual travel of the men's track and field marathon venue held in Sapporo for the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
Kenya, the Netherlands and Belgium won gold, silver and bronze medals. Japanese Suguru Osako was in the 6th place and Shogo Nakamura was in the 62nd place. However, I am deeply moved by the efforts of all the runners who have been practicing hard for this day and their feelings for their hometown.

Today, I will walk along Midosuji, which runs north-south through the center of Osaka. Midosuji, which has a long history and has the Japan's first public subway, Midosuji Line. Today, I will walk around the Nihonbashi area located in Chuo-ku, Tokyo.
Nihonbashi has prospered as a center of Japanese history, culture, and commerce since the Edo period. Because of the current redevelopment, Nihonbashi becomes the area where many skyscrapers stand. Nihonbashi has been a financial district that represents central Tokyo since the Daiichi National Bank, Japan's first bank, was established here.
It also has been center of pharmaceutical industry since the Edo period, and many major pharmaceutical companies put thier headquartered here.

Today, we go to the underground Asian Market at Ueno Ameyoko in Tokyo. The underground market is very close to Ueno Station, so you can stop by while sightseeing in Ueno. The market is in the underground of Ameyoko Center Building located near the entrance of Ameyoko Shopping Street.
In the market, rare ingredients that you do not usually see are sold, such as pig blood, big liver, spices from Asian countries and many more. It is said that 70% of the users are foreigners. We hear multiple foreign languages.

I came to Shuri Castle in Okinawa, which is also designated as a World Heritage Site. Shurijo Castle was the residence of the king of the Ryukyu Kingdom, which existed in the Ryukyu Islands of Okinawa for about 450 years from the 1400s to the 1800s. It has burned by the war, but it was restored from the end of the 1980s, and in 1992, the main hall was restored. However, the fire in 2019 burned down many restored buildings, including the main hall, and the crafts. Kingo Tatsuno designed it as a Renaissance-style brick building to be suitable for the front entrance of the capital Tokyo.
