Lyric loses its Friends - MARIETTA — A last-ditch effort to keep a musical theater company operatin

Wow. In what can only be described as a very poor decision, The Strand Theatre has let the Atlanta Lyric Theatre get away. Not only do I think The Strand will suffer from this decision, but Marietta Square will, too. Wishing our friends at the Lyric lots of luck in their new space, wherever it is - looking forward to watching their star continue to rise in Atlanta!

For those of you in the northern 'burbs, Arnold Mill is shut down for now. Find an alternate route...and chuckle to yourself when you read the reason (below). Wow.

Arnold Mill Road is shut down between Neese Road and Dobbs Circle due to a hand gr***de (possibly live) found at a home when someone was cleaning out an old barn. Cobb County's bomb squad just arrived on the scene. A spokesman for the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said the road likely will be closed for another 30-45 mins. Please avoid the area.
