The Haunted Mansion is a classic ride, and for good reason. However, if you are expecting something akin to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, or a thrill ride like Tower of Terror, you will end up sorely disappointed. Enjoy this timeless attraction by going in with realistic expectations! The ride takes you through a haunted house, but the ghosts and ghouls will only be frightening for the youngest riders.

Don't let those Florida winters catch you off guard, otherwise you will find yourself spending $80 on a hoodie in the parks! The average low in Orlando for the month of December is 53 degrees, but the record low was 18 degrees. It can feel especially chilly when the sun goes down, or if you go on a water ride. The daytime temperature during the winter can be much more temperate than the summer months though, so if you hate the heat winter can be a great time for your family to travel.

I feel like yesterday’s post about Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort really undersold the feature pool, so I wanted to make up for that today! The feature pool is called the Fuentes del Morro pool and it is themed to an old pirate fortress 🏴‍☠️ I mean, look at how awesome that is! For the adults, Banana Cabana pool bar allows you to soak up the atmosphere and themed design without having to actually get in the water, and the drinks are delicious 🍹

Both Walt Disney World and Disneyland have several line skipping services that you can purchase, and they can certainly be worth the money if you know that waiting in lines just isn't for you or your family, or if you are taking a very short once-in-a-lifetime trip.

However, for most guests you can avoid having to pay for this service and still have an enjoyable vacation. One option is to travel at an off-peak time of year that sees lower crowds so lines are shorter, and another is to take advantage of Early Entry or Extended Evening Hours (only offered to guests of Deluxe Resorts).

Another consideration is how long you want to spend in the parks each day. For my husband and I, we usually are in the parks from Early Entry until closing time. Therefore, we have time on our side so we are not anxious when we have to wait in a long line. We know we have all day to enjoy the park!

Lastly, due to its limited ride roster, line skipping is almost never necessary at Animal Kingdom. You can usually avoid long lines just by arriving early and staying later than everyone, and filling out the middle of the afternoon when the park is busy by doing the animal trails.
