Just finished up my first ever trip to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, and WOW have I been missing out! As an east coast girlie, I figured that Disney World was good enough and the west coast parks wouldn’t bring that much new to the table. I was wrong- the longer flight was SO worth it and if you haven’t been to the California parks yet, hit me up now so we can start planning! Highlights for me were having so many rides in a single park in Disneyland Park, being able to walk to the parks without the high price tag of a Deluxe resort, the excellently executed theming of Cars Land in Disney California Adventure Park, and the historical charm of Walt’s original park. Big news! Starting tomorrow (2/25/25), Tiana's Bayou Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will no longer use a virtual queue. You can access both of these rides via a regular, old-fashioned standby line! Tiana's Bayou Adventure will continue to also be part of the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass ride roster, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will still be available for Lightning Lane Single Pass purchase.

🍽️ You might not eat enough to make it worth the cost.
💰 If you are vegetarian (like my husband), your meals are usually less when paying out of pocket, but they are not less on the DDP.
📅 Signature dining and character meals use extra credits, which can throw off the value.
🥤 You forego any room-only discounts if you use the "Free Dining" promotion, which may be a better way to save money depending on your family's unique circumstances.
