Do you like a self check in option where you stay or would you rather a friendly/initial in-person meet and greet with your host? 🗝🚪

We like to let our guests do "self check-in" at our homes and keypads have been in place since our start as hosts. Other hosts meet guests at check in. We're curious- what do you prefer?

Two new- and important!- changes to the platform have just rolled out that provide far more transparency for guests during the booking process that we ❤️:

1. While searching for a , travelers can now opt to see the total pricing + all fees up front. Go figure, this only makes sense! ✔️

2. Guests will also be able to see what a host's checkout requirements are. Also good to know! ✔️

Superhosts are known to go "above and beyond" with their hospitality, providing more than just a place to stay. Guests appreciate thoughtfulness and special touches-- and these can be so simple- and fun!
- Have guests coming into town to celebrate a special occasion? A *surprise* single cupcake with candles or a bottle of sparkling wine with wine glasses on a tray can make check in that much sweeter🧁.
- Guests with pets? 🐾 Leave dog treats, waste bags, dog bowls and a dog bed! Who wouldn't love that? And here's the 🗝--- these moments are MEMORABLE for your guests. And those memorable moments show up in their reviews, so take the time to make every stay special.

Five-star Superhost Tip #4:
Show off your region, city, town! Give guests great recommendations for dining out, nightlife, nature, museums, farmers markets, theaters & shows, live music and they will THANK YOU!
You can even add a couple current events in your welcome message to help guests get excited planning their stay, create a guidebook (hard copy or online) and suggest family/pet-friendly spaces for guests to check out. Most people want to experience the area as a local and there's no one better than their host to point them in the right direction. And by all means, highlight these things in your listings as well! 😃 By far, one of the most enjoyable parts of superhosting for me! 💜

Five-star Superhost Tip #3:
Create the best guest experience and offerings possible!
According to , guest search results worldwide show that the top 10 amenities guests want right now are on this list ⬇️.
You'll notice I have not checked off pool because our listings do not offer this amenity currently. But 9 out of 10 of the top amenities is not bad! Some of these seem like a given (heating? air conditioning?) but you would be surprised! Create an environment and the types of amenities that guests are seeking and you're well on your way!
Another tip: Listen to what your guests consistently ask for. We added luggage racks to each closet and a fire pit following guest suggestions.

Communication, communication, communication!
Need I say more? 😁
Did you know that are evaluated on their communication/response time with guests? Friendly and helpful communication with your guests is the best way to establish rapport, get to know one another and when necessary, address any issues that may come up- and so much of it can be automated. Keeping the lines of communication open goes so far and most of my guests mention the outstanding communication they receive in their review! is 🗝!
