Don't leave anything for later.
Later, the coffee gets cold.
Later, you lose interest.
Later, the day turns into night.
Later, people grow up.
Later, people grow old.
Later, life goes by.
Later, you regret not doing something...
When you had the chance.

Life is a fleeting dance, a delicate balance of moments that unfold before us, never to return in quite the same way again.

Regret is a bitter pill to swallow, a weight that bears down upon the soul with the burden of missed chances and unspoken words.

So, let us not leave anything for later. Let us seize the moments as they come, with hearts open and arms outstretched to embrace the possibilities that lie before us. For in the end, it is not the things we did that we regret, but the things we left undone, the words left unspoken, the dreams left unfulfilled.

My fabulous niece Megan Dell gave me the BEST birthday present this year. She took me, my sister, herself, and a friend for an early morning balloon flight over the gorgeous Willamette Valley here in Oregon. It was pure magic. Watching the sun come up over the Cascades, slowly burning away the wisps of fog in the hollows below us. Playing touch and go on the surface of the Willamette River. Sailing low over corn fields, a garlic field in harvest, another full of vining hops. Filbert groves. Another where arbor vita was growing. And on the slopes of the hills, a patchwork quilt of vineyards. Hanging up there, moving with the wind, watching the earth below. It was simply perfect.

I'm always curious about why a certain post takes off or not. And when. This week, seemingly out of nowhere, an old essay I wrote years ago about the cemetery in San Miguel de Allende started getting a lot of traffic again for a few days. It caused me to go back and read it, something I hadn't done in a long time.
Afterward, I had that lovely feeling of thinking, "That's not bad!" Maybe you'll enjoy reading it too.

There's a new post on the blog I think you'll like:
Did you know you can have a private, personalized, FREE walking tour through a Paris neighborhood, designed with your interests in mind, led by a passionate local volunteer who loves their neighborhood and wants to help you see the beauty in it too? Paris Greeters is a non-profit org with ~400 volunteers who will do just that for you. Free. They won't even take tips. They will, however, cordially and with NO PRESSURE, ask you to make a donation to the organization so others can enjoy the same experience.
Read about my two wonderful Paris strolls with Paris Greeters. Their motto? Come as a Visitor; Leave as a Friend

Paris Greeters offers the chance to walk through a Paris neighborhood with a local who loves showing off their city. And it's free.

I had a very old post on the blog with some broken links I needed to fix. So I decided not just to fix it but to update and expand it. It's now double the length. If you like beautiful photos of San Miguel de Allende or Mexico, if you like Instagram, you might want to check out "30 Instagram-Worthy Things in San Miguel de Allende." I'd love your comments on it. Tell me what you think or what I missed. https://bit.ly/ig-sma

Still in beautiful, romantic Heidelberg...in my mind. Here's another new post about the city, specifically about the fascinating German Pharmacy Museum located inside Heidelberg Castle. Entrance is included with the castle ticket. I expected to give it about 30 minutes and stayed almost 2 hours. Really interesting! I hope you'll have a look.

At the German Pharmacy Museum inside Heidelberg Castle, learn the history of apothecaries in the world, 20,000 items & 2000 years of history.

I've been working hard on new content as well as re-learning a lot about Google, blogging, and every aspect of this business. All the writing I've been doing about Heidelberg has made me really want to re-visit this city where my grandfather was born.
Here's one of the new posts. First, the famous and romantic ruined Heidelberg Castle. So very beautiful. Let me know what you think in the comments. Please.

It's been a while! I haven't posted in so long you might think me dead. But no. I was sidelined for some time, first by the pandemic, then to take care of an ex suffering from dementia, and then by a cancer diagnosis that took all my energy. But that's in the past and...I'M BACK!
I'm currently redesigning the Nomadwomen blog from top to bottom, updating old content, and getting serious about the whole thing once again. I hope you'll stick with me here.
At the moment, I'm working on a series of posts about Heidelberg, the most beautiful city in Germany.
