Happy Halloween to all 🎃 we have collected up all our pumpkins and squash to decorate the house and garden ready for Halloween! We will save some too for yummy dinners through the winter. All that watering through the summer months was worth it.

It might be the end of growing season in the garden The Mead] but we are holding on to summer in the greenhouse, eager to try our butternuts and keep some flowers and salad going for a few more weeks. We will be planning our planting for next year and making sure there is plenty growing when we have guests so they can harvest fruit and veg in season for meals during their stay The Mead]

We have a road side stall The Mead] selling our makes and produce, pop by if you live locally, or if you come on holiday we include produce in guest welcome hampers and have more available for guests to buy from our stall during their stay The Mead]

And just like that we are thinking about next year … can’t wait to get planting again and growing lots of garden produce for our guests to pick, cook and eat .
We enjoy each season and all it brings. I could look at these runner bean seeds all day, smooth and shiny to touch, so striking with the pink peppered with black. Time to dry and store away ready for planting. We are looking forward to summer 2022! What time of year will you plan to come and visit !?

Just ten minutes down the road from is the boating and kayaking lake Kingfishers at Cretingham] with a white Sandy beach for little ones to play and paddle in the water where you can watch fish in the shallows - you may also spot a Kingfisher!
Ideal for families. There are boats and kayaks to hire for some fun on the water. We have spent many a lazy afternoon here this summer and we highly recommend it to our guests, roll on summer 2022 ! Kingfishers at Cretingham]

With the hedgerows around full of delicious berries, hedgerow jam it had to be! Blackberry apple and elderberry, tastes as amazing as the colour looks! Even if you can’t stay with us at this time of year lots of our home made and often home grown jams and preserves find their way into guest welcome hampers, giving a little taste of .
