Epic Homecoming: Centuries-Old Treasures Return to Sri Lanka from the Netherlands! ~ Now A New Tourists Attraction In Town

"Walimbe" means "the highest place" in the indigenous language of this country. This rock has been called Valimbe Hela by the aborigines since ancient times as it is a very high hill compared to other hills around the Nuwaragalatenna reserve. The English name Friar's Hood was coined in the British era.

World Wildlife Day is a time to celebrate the incredible creatures that share our planet, but it's also an opportunity to reflect on the serious risks they face. Sadly, many animals are losing their homes due to habitat destruction, pollution, and climate change. Some species are even on the brink of extinction.

This is where humans have a responsibility to step in and take action. We must work together to protect these animals and their habitats, so that they can continue to thrive for generations to come. Simple things like reducing our use of single-use plastics, supporting conservation efforts, and making sustainable choices can all make a big difference.

But it's not just about what we can do individually. We must also push for government policies that protect wildlife and their habitats. By speaking up and advocating for change, we can create a world where animals are valued and their homes are protected.

So on this World Wildlife Day, let's celebrate the beauty and diversity of the natural world, but let's also remember our responsibility to protect it.
